GWYNETH PALTROW FOUND LEARNING THE GUITAR VERY, VERY PAINFUL!!

Gwyneth PaltrowGWYNETH Paltrow suffered “bleeding” and “cramping” to her hands while learning how to play the guitar for her new movie Country Strong.

The actress — who plays an alcoholic country music star in the film, opposite Tim McGraw as her husband — spent hours working with session guitarist Mark Jaimes to make her portrayal convincing and admits it was a painful and emotional experience.

“I played all the time, and my hands were bleeding and cramping. It sucked,” the Iron Man star, who’s married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, told Entertainment Weekly magazine.

“I cried, like, five times at various points over the four months. It’s really f**king hard. It’s much harder than it looks. But at the same time, it was kind of exhilarating to be learning chords and putting them together.”

Meanwhile, Paltrow — who raises two children with Martin — believes women can’t have it all — because she is always forced to make choices between her career and family.

“I am never away from my children for longer than five days, a week at the most. I do one film a year, and then I do the rest of my stuff at home,” she said.

“It is a balance. Sometimes I have to not do something that sounds really appealing, but it just doesn’t work for my family. You can’t have it all.”

    I’m not a big Gwynneth fan or anything, but I think everyone’s jumping on her for no reason. She’s not saying her life as a working mom is so hard. She’s saying that she has the choice to work a lot and do many movies and garner lots of attention, or she can not do any movies and focus on her family completely, or she can do one movie per year to keep her career going and still have her main focus on raising her children. She chose the third option. Why all the haters?

    I am a working mom, JJ, & I find what she says to be true. Family comes first, what exactly doesn’t she get about being a working mom?

    I don’t think TRAUMATIC is the correct word , Jayne. I think she was verbalizing, honestly, that learning to play a guitar in a small amount of time was HARD…. not TRAUMATIC.

    Yeah, geez there are members in the military that have to worry about IEDs blowing them up or dismembering them and poor Gwyneth was having to endure the torture of learning to play the guitar.

    I survived the same torture myself from the time of age 8 thru age 16. My parents should serve some time for foisting such a traumatic experience as guitar lessons on a young boy.

    I have played guitar and bass since I was 7 years old. I have taught many adults. It IS a big deal and traumatic for non musicians…..give her and every other actor doing this a break. shes not a cry baby….she is not only learning a great part of life, but making an emotional journey to explore her soul, weather that is what she intended, or not. she is an actess 1st and foremost… I have been an actor and gave it up to be a musician…..she is doing great. lay off.

    Honestly, why do people care about these celebrities? They are just people. She was just discussing an experience. If she has any brains, she recognizes the vast gulf between her extremely privileged life and the life of most of the rest of us. If she doesn’t, then she is basically an idiot, but I sense she probably does. My beef with these celebrities is that I think they should give at least half of their incomes to help the poor and the needy – we have people starving all over the planet, and they are buying another house in the South of France. You don’t take any of it with you, so share what you have while there is still time. That’s my two cents.
