DWAYNE Johnson wants to star in Sylvester Stallone‘s upcoming Expendables sequel.
The actor — who’s best known for his action roles in The Scorpion King and Doom — says he’d love to take part in the follow up to the hugely successful movie, as long as the script is good enough.
“It all depends on the material. I’ve known Sly for a long time now and he’s a buddy of mine so it all depends on the material,” he said.
Dwayne also insisted he is grounded and prefers to be “nice” than come across as “self-absorbed”.
“Not only do I think being nice and kind easy but being kind, in my opinion, is important,” he said.
“It’s easy to be a bad ass, it’s easy to act like a bad ass, easy to act like a tough guy, it’s easy to be a diva, and it’s easy to be self absorbed. I always just find it more important to be nice and kind.”
Dwayne — who used to wrestle under the name The Rock — recently admitted he was a “violent” child.
“I was just always into violence when I was younger. I was just a real violent kid,” he said.
“But growing up in Hawaii, it’s always lots of fighting and then everybody makes up — I love you, you love me, let’s have a beer; what about a barbecue?
“I didn’t come from a broken home, I had very loving parents. I was just making poor decisions.”
However, his background did not inform his later career as an action star, as he wanted to work on other styles of film.
“I wanted to break out of the action genre,” he said. “I stopped and said, ‘I’d like to do a comedy next,’ Then I’d like to do a little drama. It was just a matter of just resetting for a moment, taking a beat.”[imagebrowser id=857]
