Heath Ledger to Feature in New Batman Movie?

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Heath LedgerHEATH Ledger might be making another movie — despite being dead.

Sources say Inception director Christopher Nolan is planning to use unseen footage from Ledger’s Dark Knight performance as the Joker in his upcoming Dark Knight Rises.

Ledger died back in 2008 after an accidental drugs overdose. He was 28.

“The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time,” reveals a movie insider.

“Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker.

“It would only be a fleeting moment in the movie and would only be included with the full consent of Heath’s family.”

I hope this happens. Heath’s portrayel in the Dark Knight was absolutely mesmerizing. Since this is the last movie of this franchise, it would be wonderful for the fans and of course Heath’s family and friends to see Heath again in the role that he has immortalized.

    RIP Heath

That was so rude, john j, rodz. His family needs money? Unlikely. I am glad this might happen. However this could just be a rumor. Hopefully it is not though. In many interviews Nolan has stated not to ask him about Ledger’s Joker. He doesn’t feel comfortable discussing it, and he was very clear there would not be a Joker in the third series. Speculation surfacing once again. I sincerely hope this was Nolan’s intention all along, surprising us with unseen footage of Heath’s Joker, to get everyone psyched about the third Batman film because there are so many people who miss Heath Ledger, and loved his portrayal of a schizophrenic psychotic man with scars and a face paint, as opposed to someone who was dipped in a vat of chemicals with bleached skin who went “mad.”

    Rest In Peace Heath Ledger.
We love you and miss you greatly.

I really do understand both sides of the argument, but for the sake of continuity, you need some sort of reference to the joker in the third film. To ignore his existence, would ruin the credibility of the series as a whole. Heath seemed like a guy who was more about the art than about himself, so I’m inclined to believe he would have wanted his likeness to be used.

I doubt this happens bcuz context will be difficult to pull off unless Nolan uses it as TV newscast footage covering his capture. He should have died at the end of TDK but that wouldn’t happen bcuz TDK’s ending scenes all but ripped off the ending of Burton’s Batman.

Less is more. Ledger already shined in TDK so there’s no need to go beyond that just to do it.

Heath Ledger should definitely be included in this next film. Without his presence, the film will be a flop. More Ledger, please. His fans would be memorized.
