JIM Carrey used to hide under his Christmas tree.

The Christmas Carol star recalled his favorite Christmas memory.

“My favorite Christmas memory is from my childhood,” Carrey said.

“My big thing was that I couldn’t wait to lay under the tree and squint my eyes up at the lights.

“I also liked to listen to Johnny Mathis and all those other Christmas songs that just never got old as far as I was concerned.”

Meanwhile, Carrey — who earlier this year split from longtime love Jenny McCarthy — apparently came between his daughter Jane and her husband Alex Santana, who are divorcing after only a year.

“He ruined Jane and Alex’s relationship with his manipulation and possessiveness,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“After he broke up with Jenny, Jim had so much time on his hands he focused on Jane and Alex and became an interfering menace.

“Jim kept popping in at their place unannounced. He monopolized Jane’s time, and started lecturing his son-in-law on how to be a better father and husband.

“When Alex finally demanded that he back off, it triggered arguments with Jane. Their life together crumbled under the strain.

“Jim’s a comic genius but a tortured soul. He means well, and he’s devoted to his daughter and grandson. But there are times where Jim can be completely overwhelming. And in the end, her father cost Jane her marriage.”

It amazes me the crap they will print about celebrities. I think if that was the case his daughter would have told him to but out. Why would her husband be the one to tell him anyways Obviously Jane was sick of Alex or she would have took his side and had a talk with her dad if that was indeed the case which I’m sure it wasn’t.

I read a story a while back, about how when Jim Carrey was a kid, his family was so poor they were living in a car up in Canada. Jim was doing stand-up making small amounts of money for gas to get to the next gig…..maybe he forgot about that. Maybe they had a tree in the car and he liked to lay under it….maybe he was blowing smoke up our ass.

Whether this is true or not, a marriage should not be easily ‘destroyed’ by an in-law. It’s a couples’ responsibility to work through these types of situations. Obviously their relationship was not very strong in the first place! But I truly doubt Jim Carrey was ever a ‘menace’ and I bet this whole story is just BS….!

Ever since I wrote this I have been stressed out. Could not breathe even! I have been divorced for 16 years and chose a spiritual Christian life. I had better stick with that. I chose the Lord. I am then accepted just as I am. And, my time of prayer and spiritual existence really suits me and I am of help to many more this way. I was an excellent wife and/or partner I believe. I was not given proper credit by anyone but really was the best. I am calming down now. I was excellent with stress management and should probably make a career of that alone. On short doses and not with the closeness and love involved as in a marriage. I really love single life. Even on the holidays I have adjusted to it. Right now I am in a blizzard in Delaware. I am calming down now. My computer has been off for awhile. Comcast was down, cable, phone and Internet. That could have been stress too. I wish all well. I am also older than both Jim Carrey and Leonardo DiCaprio. I was older than my former husband and partner too. I also once taught the gifted. Long ago now. Peace. And Good will toward all. As far as his daughter’s marriage goes, there may be co-dependency of some kind. They need to give the marriage more time especially if there is a child involved unless there is abuse of some kind. It says in the Bible that when a man and woman marry they leave their Mother and Father. That was the problem my former husband and I had. We did not really leave our parents. All of my parents and 13 others have died now and it is amazing what I have learned about myself. You do have to cut those strings in a marriage. Visits are good. This was just one year. The first year is all adjustment. I feel sorry for all concerned and don’t think this should really even be a news item. Public life I guess. But movie people are not politicians. God Bless! First of all, how is that a bizarre tradition? Second, he may have been poor as a child and lived in a car with his family, but has it every occurred to anyone that there were times they were living in a house? DUH!
Third, he’s not to blame for the failure of his daughter’s marriage. I’m sure she could have told him to back off if that was the case. Very possibly Jane and Alex just weren’t meant to be together. Simple as that.
I’m so sick of these tabloids throwing blame when in actuality, they are the ones to blame for what goes wrong in peoples’ lives. Jim Carrey is genius! Leave him alone!

I guess there’s a lot of us who loved to lay down under the Christmas tree and squint at the lights. I loved looking through the red clear glass balls and when I squinted it made the tree look magical.It’s a good memory. I’ll bet Jim Carrey has lot’s more good memories! I’ve always been a fan Jim! Funny how everybody seems to KNOW the reason for the couple’s break-up (that’s even assuming that the story is true and that they even are breaking up).
I’m wondering how any of you know if Jim Carey visited his daughter’s home frequently or not, if he interferred in the marriage or not, if it was a good marriage to begin with or not.
Do any of you know any of the parties involved personally? Have any of you ever been there when they were together? Have any of you heard any of the arguments or discussions or whatever between the husband and wife?
Some of you that commented on whose fault any alleged breakup might be, made it clear that you don’t even know the ages of the couple.
And it wouldn’t surprise me to find out that some of you who KNOW for certain whose fault any alleged breakup is or isn’t, didn’t even know Jim Carey HAS a daughter!!
