So sorry to learn of this. Thought you would be together forever. Hope you reconcile but if not, always remember your love and the lovely family you created.

I guess it’s time to move on. The problem is, that when Elaine, 40 leaves John, It’s easy to find someone else, but for John at 59 …not so much. Nevertheless, I wish them both luck and happy new lives.

John Mellencamp is the greatest living rock musician on the planet. He is a legened in our time. He’s a great human being, and a consummate artist. I praise you John and thank you for what you’ve done through the years. And “the best you can do” is far better than what most musicians and artists (myself included) could ever dream of accomplishing. You’ve helped so many people, and supported so many important causes. YOu are my human idol and my favorite living musician! My favorite all-time (non-living) musicians are Elvis Presley and Beethoven. You are in that trio in my heart and mind. Good luck with everything that is going on right now. I have been married for six years to a wonderful woman named Angela. But marraige has it’s trials and setbacks. We have three step-children (from Angies previous marraige): Tyler (10), Maressa (11), and Christine (13), and one biological child together: Julia, who is four, almost five. Marraige is a very difficult thing and involves lots of extremely agonizing decisions. I hope all works out for the best for you and your family John. If you want to talk, give me a call at (320) 217-5750. It would be a dream come true! I am a musician and I have been playing your music for years. If you have a chance, come see my website at http://www.crazydogmusic.com. Hang in there! “Jack and Diane” happens to be one of my favorite songs of all-time. Your fan for life, Rick J Brix

We have always loved you out here in So Cal Johnny Boy but that Midwest Whitetrash roleplay is catching up with you

Reply to above comment that at 59 it won’t be so easy for John to find someone else-don’t you realize they are ALREADY lining up?? Age doesn’t matter when you’re a rock star and I bet he ends up with one younger than Elaine. Best wishes to them both!

  • tim

Yeah rick brix, i’m sure he’s gonna give you a call, you freaking dork. his music sucks too.

The dreaded 20 year mark. Many of our marriages could not conquer it. Best to both of you.

  • tbone

Perhaps he could rent his forehead out as a billboard space.
Or he could be Superman’s nemesis Brainiac!
John Cougar Crainiumcamp. ( It’s where large headed kids go for the summer.)

  • BTOWNtownie

Hahahaha, they have had an open relationship for some time and Elaine is the one who made of the best out of it.

His head is not large, but maybe his body is a bit small. Guys who get pushed around because they are small, tend to develop that “Napoleon” attitude and make it a point to let you know that they are just as tough as anyone else. When I was a skinny, smart-assed teen, I had a few run-ins with little guys and fortunatly, when they hit you, it just stings rather than hurts! I’ve been with the same woman for 30+ tough years, so I hope John contacts Rick Brix. I also hope Elaine contacts me!

I’ve seen you 4 times over the years … the first was Farm Aid 1995 (yes, the first one ever in Champaine, IL), LA Coliseum, and twice in Indiana. I wish you the best and am happy to be a lifelong fan. Hit Buckners Cave or the Quarry’s and rejuvenate.

Obviously you do or you wouldn’t have read it & replied.

  • Jon

    Who gives a shit!

He is known as the most arrogant, demanding douche bag rock “star” to all the people backstage that have to cater to his every whim!! I don’t know how she put up with this ass wipe for that long! And his music blows!

    • rob

maybe she just got tired of being called Mrs Menstrual Cramp

  • http://yahoo Patricia

Elaine is 40 now and maybe feels got married too young. She left at the height of her career to marry John.. She was HUGE in the early 90s as a model her name easily dropped along with Cindy Crawford. John may have been a bit too old for her. Best to them now.

  • M

    STUPID men!

  • Behindscne

Jim is right. Anyone who’s had to work with him over the years knows he can be a demanding, self-centered prick. He’s extremely talented when it comes to music, but lacks in people skills. But all the best to both of them.

I am from Bloomington, Elaine is well respected here. He is not. I would have to argue that he is the greatest R/R star. He is average. Just fortunate. I have seen him in action, he is rude, etc. His arrogance takes away from his talent. You get my drift. Elaine is a classy Lady, we wish her the best.
