JOHN Mellencamp has a new girlfriend!

The rocker — who recently announced he and his wife, model Elaine Irwin, are splitting up after 18 years of marriage — has reportedly hooked up with actress Meg Ryan!

John and Meg were seen arm-in-arm walking in TriBeCa in late October, and she has since been spotted backstage at dates on his tour.

“Meg has been to a couple of recent shows,” a source told New York Post gossip column Page Six.

John’s publicist, Bob Merlis, announced on Thursday that he and Elaine are said to split. He declined to say if they’d filed for divorce, but did say, “They will continue to raise their two children in Indiana but have decided to call it a day as a couple.”

Actually Meg Ryan left Dennis Quaid because he had been cheating on her for years while they were married but she didn’t know…the people around her knew but she didn’t know. When she finally found out that is when she left Quaid for Crowe. She said all of that in a InStyle Magazine article she did a couple of years ago.
To everyone else: John Mellencamp and his wife were probably separated months ago but they probably just now announcing it. That is how it usually works, like when everyone hated Sienna Miller because she had hooked up with a married man–an actor, everyone thought she had broken up that marriage but in fact the married man (the actor) had been separated almost a year from his wife but he had managed to keep it quiet and not have it announced to the world.
