The skater — who recently shocked the world with the bombshell revelation that he is indeed gay — says his new book, Welcome to My World, talks candidly about his sex life — including the fact he “waited for love” to lose his virginity.

“I delve into a lot of the nitty-gritty about my sex life, which people have been waiting for, but I wanted to wait until I could tell it in my own words,” he told PopEater.

“I talk about waiting for love for [losing] my virginity. … I waited.

“I’m not ashamed to be me. More than anyone else I know, I love my life and accept myself. What’s wrong with being unique? I am proud of everything that I am and will become.

“All the gay websites couldn’t figure out why I was such a jerk that I wouldn’t talk about it.

“Pressure is the last thing that would make me want to ‘join’ a community. … The massive backlash against me in the gay media and community only made me dig my ‘closeted’ heels in further.”

    I am a skating fan. I knew it was a matter of time before he admitted this.Good for him. There will be people in the skating community that will embrace him and there will be some(ISU)that will shun for this book.I just hope if he returns to skating competively that the ISU doesn’t hold it against him.

    Are you kidding? They “shunned” him on just the assumption that he was gay, now that he came out, they’ll want to denounce him completely. Since they can’t do that publicly, they’ll continue to under score him even when he has a stellar performance.

    i use to be heavly depressed and highly suicidal, then i watched him once and my life suddenly got brighter

    i hope he saves it for someone who cares for him the way he needs to be,
