Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes ‘Argue Over Suri’s Schooling’

Posted by Adam

Tom Cruise and Katie HolmesTOM Cruise and hiswife Katie Holmes are at war yet again — over where to send their adorable daughter, Suri, to school!

According a bombshell new report, Cruise wants the tot to be home-schooled like his two older children Connor, 16, and Isabella, 18, but Katie is just as insistent that Suri attend a private school.

“Suri turns 5 in April and her official Scientology education is about to begin, but deciding how to go about it has suddenly turned into one of the biggest crises of Tom and Katie’s entire relationship,” blabbed one insider.

“(Katie) wants the same kind of experience for her daughter, even if it can’t be in a Catholic school.”

Recent reports claimed that Holmes is fed up that she and Top Gun star Tom never get to spend time together.

“Katie’s so had it with Tom traveling, she’s stopped trying to put on a happy face” a source said. “What bugs her is Tom just accepts being unable to play husband and father.

“He waves off her and Suri a little to cheerfully for Katie’s liking. Tom even calls home in a good mood, like he’s having such a blast in all these exotic places. But oh yeah — he misses them, of course.

“Katie only travels when she must because it’s emotionally wrenching being away from the family. That’s just how she is. Tom takes it all in his stride, and that’s what irritates her.

“If Tom was clever, he’d at least tell Katie how much he misses being away from the two women in his life. Instead, he takes off again and again with the same happy skip — like he’s secretly glad to break the monotony.”

“Absence is supposed to make the heart grow fonder, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Tom and Katie.”

    Scientology education is an oxymoron

    Run Katie Run!

Everyone’s seen the bonkers Cruise $cientology cult video – poor Suri doesn’t need that kind of “help” !!!

  • Scientology Student Terryeo

Haze guys, a Scientology edukation is grate.

  • Thomas

Um…I taught in a school that used Ron Hubbard’s books on study. The books taught the students to look up words they didn’t understand, to study for application and not just for a grade, and to do drawings or demonstrations to aid understanding of principles that were complicated. Apart from the books on study, the students used standard text books like everyone else but moving at their own speed on individualized programs. There weren’t any courses on Scientology at the school. People who wish to study Scientology do so at a Scientology organization, not a school.

“There weren’t any courses on Scientology at the school.”

Yeah sure Tommy, and you, as a Scientology Office of Special Affairs internet patroller need to make sure we know that. Thanks, you came in loud and clear.

  • steve

Hey, “osa handlers”! Thomas is right. The learning techniques do work quite well, and have been proven to work over and over again. For someone to besmirch it for any reason other than empirical knowledge is just foolish. Come on, just admit that you really don’t know much about it, but are attacking it for other reasons, and you will feel better about yourself and you will be expressing your self much more honestly! To assume that Thomas is from the OSA is a little paranoid, isn’t it? If they did not work, why are these schools so successful, and students continue to thrive there?

  • Wynne

“The learning techniques do work quite well, and have been proven to work over and over again” Prove it!

Scientology has never, and never will submit it techniques to verification. Will you please point out a peer-reviewed study that establishes how effective L Ron Hubbard’s education techniques are?

Keep in mind (a) Hubbard dropped out of college and in general was a poor student and (b) he had no background in education and (c) he even faked his credentials with a fake PhD

Most educators feel that the scientology obsession with constantly stopping reading to run and look a word up is contrary to the way a child should learn, potentially even stunting development. The same can be said for the silly reliance on making clay models of concepts.

  • Concerned

Scientology education is a thinly disguised veil for Scientology brainwashing, accepting all of Hubbard’s dictates as true, or facing security checking if doubt creeps in.

Hubbard’s appropriation of the 19th Century “dictionary method” — looking up words in a dictionary — merely slows contextual learning. For example, Hubbard himself never learned to read or speak a foreign language although he got very poor grades in German, in his two years of college before flunking out.

Language in scientology is used as a bait and switch. The dictionary definition of words is used as bait for understanding/truth, and switched to become justification for slavish following.

This mirrors the cult of scientology in general, where members believe they follow a process where they are seeking enlightenment, yet are drawn deeper into a dark place of unquestioning following, where all critical thinking and doubt about Hubbard must be deleted, along with the “reactive mind.”

“To assume that Thomas is from the OSA is a little paranoid, isn’t it?”

No Steve, I’ve talked to you on the SP Times site before and you denied that you’re OSA, that you “just happen” on these Scientology-related articles and yet here you are again. I think that you and Tom are a little dishonest though, shilling Hubbard’s crappy “study-tech” without disclosing the fact that both of you are in fact Scientologists.

Steve, we know all the Scientology made-up claims and “succes stories” that you’re here to spout and we don’t believe any of them.

  • osa handlers

One more thing Steve, after seeing the dishonest and shady way you OSA staff Scientologists conduct yourselves I’d rather have my kids hang out with crack dealers.

“For someone to besmirch it for any reason other than empirical knowledge is just foolish.”

My empirical knowledge says that Scientology seems to mutate people into compulsive liars, some of the very last kind of people that should be allowed to influence children.

I’m back! Good morning to all. I see that the fun bunch is out there still slinging their crap! I am not affiliated to Scientology except as a student and member of Scientology; I am not, and never have been on staff. One of the most important principles I have learned is there is no profit in lying about Scientology (or anything, for that matter). In the end you are hurting the one you are lying to and yourself; a ‘lose/lose’ situation.

I will give you a real life situation that occurred; I have a friend who was taking a course. She needed a minimum 80% mark to pass and gain her accreditation. She had failed 3 times with marks in the 60-70% range. I offered to help her with this technology and “word clear” her study materials. She came back afterwards with her results…….95%!!!! She was so pleased, and it was again confirmation for me that this technology works.

It comes down to this; you can choose to have faith in what I say, or one of these naysayers. That is your prerogative! A better choice, however, is to go to any Library and read a book on this technology! Then you can decide who is lying and who is telling the truth.

    Steve,

So what- you helped a friend study and pass a test. First of all, that is purely anectdotal evidence, not scientific. Second of all, a glossary (vocabulary) is a standard way of studying for tests – nothing special at all. Any 6th grader knows that. Of course it would take a scientologist to say it is some special technology “word clear.” That’s just misleading.

  • steve

Word clearing is much more than that, and besides, I have had two children go through the public school system and neither were taught by their schools how to even use a dictionary, let alone clear a word. A glossary is invaluable for terms specific to a subject, but what about everyday words with several meanings? If I had not learned these skills, I would not have been able to help the dozens of people (mostly my friends kids) I have helped just learn basic subjects. None of them are rocket scientists, but they all were appreciative of the help, and every one gained considerably from the effort. Oh ya, only a few have actually done anything more with Scientology. It is a religion with many available tools. Use what you want and leave the rest if you want.

How am I to supply scientific proof on a blog site? Go to Applied Scholastics if you want more definitive information. I am just a guy blogging on a blog site.

  • osa handlers

Steve knows a lot about “technology” even though he doesn’t understand that his anecdotal evidence that sounds a lot like marketing testimonials, or the scientific method. Scientology will never allow any of it’s results to be tested by any indepedent, psychologists tried back in the 60′s and suddenly became L Ron’s enemies when he failed miserably to prove any of his claims. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clear_(Scientology)
In August 1950, amidst the success of Dianetics, Hubbard held a demonstration in Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium where he presented a young woman called Sonya Bianca (a pseudonym) to a large audience including many reporters and photographers as ‘the world’s first Clear.’ However, despite Hubbard’s claim that she had “full and perfect recall of every moment of her life”, Bianca proved unable to answer questions from the audience testing her memory and analytical abilities, including the question of the color of Hubbard’s tie. Hubbard explained Bianca’s failure to display her promised powers of recall to the audience by saying that he had used the word “now” in calling her to the stage, and thus inadvertently froze her in “present time,” which blocked her abilities.[8][9]

  • osa handlers

Steve and his OSA cohorts conveniently never mention the money element in Scientology, these and all Scientology course can easily run into the thousands and tens of thousands of dollars. The average price for becoming “clear” is $300,000.

And when this “study-tech” fails to produce any results after you’ve spent $15,000 Steve and his cohorts might say something like ” he had used the word “now” in calling her to the stage, and thus inadvertently froze her in “present time,” which blocked her abilities.”

    Caveat emptor.

  • wil thompson

I was raised in a scientologist home and it greatly damaged my academic performance. Thinking outside the box is greatly discouraged and questioning anything Hubbard wrote is “out ethics”. This often resulted in severe punishment even though I was only a small kid. If you are a parent thinking of sending your child to a school that uses scientology “study tech”, I beg you to reconsider. Question their flashy PR and google scientology to read BOTH sides of the debate.

      To: Wil Thompson,
      Re: Scientology in school

Thanks for your brave remarks! I have heard they really persecute those who critique them. I have read both sides of Scientology Debate, and I am not comfortable with this cult. I do feel they have different rules for celebs like Cruise. It’s the rich and famous that help keep this sect alive & thriving.

Your description of what you endured is very consistent w/what I have read. Further, I have read Tom C’s remarks to press, including his comments about psychiatry & child raising. What a dystopian system. I am not impressed with the way Tom’s little girl is being raised & exposed to so much publicity. Granted, she was a beautiful baby, but lately she looks so messy, her long hair disheveled, her clothes very inappropriate. Her parents seem to ignore the doctors who have spoken out, re shoes for children; advising them to at least save her feet, by wearing healthier shoes. Instead, TomKat got defensive, stating she has children’s dancing shoes, and just continuing to expose their child to the max!
Tom Cruise is a great actor, but he was a kid dx’d as learning disabled, due to reading problems.. His ignorance, is no doubt a factor in his submission to this terrible creed. If TomKat only had a clue; that they are NOT being perceived as cool, at all. Keep up your good work re this nasty cult.

    Dear Will,
I am sorry you had a poor home life. Why don’t you write up a report to the Department of Ethics Review at the church that your parents belong to.

A real Scientologist would never force anything religious or spiritual onto someone.

As for private schools run by Scientologists, I suggest you tour one and observe for yourself.

  • shani curtis

Real talk schooling not what they arguing about Connor look just like his daddy Tom come tell the truth Tom you got with a sista and had Connor

  • K

Tom Cruise is rich. No one ever said he was intelligent. Women need to stop marrying the guy in the hopes of a career boost. Katies career has really never been much.

  • MK

Scientiology is a cult, and a very rich one at that too. They need to let Suri be a normal kid, and not brainwashed by the cult’s teachings.
I am very surprised by now, that Katie Holmes hasn’t let Tom. Why, because she would probably lose Suri. Even her parents, don’t like the church and have some problems with him.

I’m curious to find out what blog platform you’re utilizing? I’m experiencing some small security issues with my latest site and I would like to find something more safeguarded. Do you have any solutions?
