RYAN Seacrest is waiting to hear from Simon Cowell.

The American Idol host says Cowell will ring up him up to gloat when his new US X Factor is a ratings winner.

Seacrest, 36, recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and spoke about Cowell’s upcoming project.

“Actually I did hear from him, I spoke to him when he was overseas on a little bit of a break and he didn’t comment about the new show,” Cowell said.

“No he didn’t bring up the new show. But he likes to keep his opinions to himself.

“He will be the first to congratulate himself on his new ratings by sending me a fax of the ratings to my house the day after the new season premieres.”

Seacrest has previously claimed Cowell was “jealous” of his success.

“From Day One, he was envious of my career at such a young age,” Seacrest told Entertainment Weekly magazine.

Ryan said that with Simon no longer on Idol, “it’s aged the show down a bit.”

“There are less clouds of smoke,” he added. “We start earlier. There’s less — what’s that English dish he always ordered for lunch? — Shepherd’s Pie.”
