HUGH Jackman believes Anne Hathaway and James Franco will do a marvelous job hosting this year’s Oscars.

The Aussie actor hosted the prestigious ceremony in 2009, and is adamant the young stars are excellent choices to follow in his footsteps.

“Anne helped me out when I hosted the Oscars, as you remember,” Jackman told US TV show Extra.

“I think she’s phenomenally talented. And James is one of the most versatile guys around, so between the two of them, I think they are going to be surprising and do a great, great job!”

Jackman recently revealed he’s eating 6,000 calories a day to prepare for his role in the next installment of Wolverine.

“Right now, I’m at 210,” Jackman says of his current weight, the result of an intense diet and workout regime. “It’s 6,000 calories a day. It’s rough.”

Jackman revealed director Darren Aronofsky “said with the last one, ‘Hey you looked great, but you’re so tall that in those long shots you looked kind of like Clint Eastwood, and that’s not Wolverine.

“He said that Wolverine, in the comics, is powerful, stocky…he’s short and thick. So he said, ‘I want you to go there, get bigger.’

“If I have a massive heart attack, well, you tell everyone what I was going for.”
