Tonya Harding Too Broke to Pay Her Rent? Former Figure Skating Champ Tonya Harding Struggling For Money?

Tonya HardingTONYA Harding is having money worries.

The former Olympic figure skater — who’s expecting her first child with her husband of nearly a year, Joseph Price — is so hard up that she’s living with her sister-in-law.

“Tonya should be celebrating the arrival of her first child, but instead she’s complaining that she’s nearly broke, fat and cramped in a home she doesn’t want to live in,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

Harding was the first woman to land a triple axel in competition. She became notorious when her then-husband and her associates were convicted of attacking a skating rival

Tonya — a commentator on truTV’s The Smoking Gun Presents: World’s Dumbest — and Joe wed last June in a private ceremony in Clark County.

    We never know what’s going on in another person’s life. Harding has had plenty of time to regret the ugly things she did. Every failure she’s experienced since then has been played out in the media. Let’s cut the woman some slack. I’m glad she at least has someone who’s willing to see her through this.

    To whomever wrote this, Tonya was NOT the first woman to do a triple axel in competition, Midori Ito was. Tonya was, however the first American woman to land a triple axel in competition. Most people don’t care or even know the difference, but some do and it’s important to Midori Ito who gets the credit.

    Hey Minnesota…no Harding fans here, she’s trash, but just an FYI…amateur figure skaters back in that day did not earn a fortune skating & 99% still don’t…some do now, like Yu-Na Kim with all her endorsements but Tonya definitely did not…you don’t get paid to go to the Olympics or Nationals…it is a privilege that she blew off

    She deserves a break. That crap with Nancy was the best thing that ever happen to her (Nancy). She wasn’t even in the running for a medal, but got the votes because of sympathy for her injury.

    Also, one mistake doesn’t make a person a worthless for the rest of their life!

    Hey Henry, re: the portion of your comment regarding Nancy Kerrigan, I do essentially agree… that ‘clubbing’ incident made Nancy a worldwide household name & media star. But insofar as the Olympic achievement, I believe many, many skating judge experts therafter indicated she got robbed of the gold as her performance was indeed a notch above Oksana Baiul’s performance. Basically the experts indicated that Nancy was indeed flawless and Oksana should have finished second. (Of course we know Oksana has had her legal problems thereafter too, though not on the level as Tonya’s, but that’s another story also).

I buy my clothes at the 2nd hand store-when I NEED clothes, and not before (also I repair what I have). I don’t spend $35 on face cream; I get the face cream from the $1 store and people still think I’m 35 when I’m 45. I don’t drink or smoke and I don’t buy little knick-knack junk that collects dust and ends up in a garage sale for 10 cents (which is where I do buy decorations if I need any).     She almost destroyed that poor woman’s career.

    Doesn’t Tonya Harding earn money from TruTV? Folks, the Nancy Kerrigan thing was 17 years ago. LET IT GO!!! Also, Nancy Kerrigan wasn’t so Lady Like after she lost to Oksana Baiul. Figure Skating is a sport, just like football and boxing. Someone is bound to get hurt!!
    Also, the hit that Nancy Kerrigan took in the leg was not that bad. Her crying performance after the WHACK was worse than her injury!! Tonya was the first woman to land a triple axel, she deserves to be forgiven and let back into the skating world so all can see her god given talents. TONYA DEMAND MORE MONEY FROM TRUTV, YOU DESERVE IT!!!

    Briank, you must be Tonya in disguise. When interviewed WITH Nancy about 11 years ago, Tonya flat out denied knowing that her husband and his friend were thinking about killing Nancy!     Her name ought to be Tonya Hardon. She probably got a hard on when she whacked Nancy Kerrigan. That seems to be a common thing with psychotic people nowadays.

    And as far as Nancy crying when she got whacked on the leg, she got hit on the leg hard by a metal baton. She is lucky it didn’t break her leg, instead it was said that she suffered internal bruising.

    There are all of these other comments against Kerrigan saying that she was “bitchy” and “grumpy”, mainly because the press wouldn’t leave her alone. She just wanted to move past it.

    Hardon on the other, is just basically worthless, seems like she is going to be another wel-fare case. So, basically that means all of us taxpayers are going to be fitting the bill for her baby.

    Nancy Kerrigan was not that golden child in her behavior at the Olympics either.She bitched and complained when Oksana was stalling the award ceremony to redo her makeup. Nancy said,”I don’t know why she is redoing her makeup all she is going to do is ball”. Plus wasn’t the guy who she is married to know still married to his previous wife when Nancy started seeing him.

    Lets just say that Michelle Kwan was the best American skater ever in her skating and her behavior on and off the ice even though she never won the gold medal. No one will ever come close to her accomplishments on and off the ice.Michelle is one of a kind.

    Tonya skated in Florida when she was a little girl. Her mom was fat and lived an alternative lifestyle in a trailer. She had no decent upbringing at all. She had talent and not the lifestyle that could go along with a good life. Her mom cursed and cursed in the skating rink. We are all a product of our upbringing. She did not have a chance. The fact that she met someone that loves her even though she has no money left is a miracle. She turned her life around and is starting out with nothing. It is a miracle she is still alive. You did not know her or see her as a little girl. I did.
