Gary Oldman Nervous About Dark Knight Rises! Actor Gary Oldman Discusses New Batman Flick!

Posted by Adam

Gary OldmanGARY Oldman was nervous about the weight of expectation around Chris Nolan‘s latest Batman movie — until he found out what is going to happen to the caped crusader.

The actor is expected on the set of Dark Knight Rises in May as Commissioner Gordon and says he has high hopes for the film.

Dark Knight was such a huge hit on every level I did wonder how Chris was going to top it,” says Gary.

“I haven’t read the script yet but I have spoken to Chris and the story is fantastic.

“You think he wouldn’t be able to top the Dark Knight but I think he just might with this one.”

Good news so far. Only bad news about the movie is who is playing catwoman – imo – that actress should not be in this movie.

    • Juggalotus

Check out the movie Havok with her. She’s a versatile actress, and beautiful, which will make for a great Catwoman.

get over it Carlton and if ur so upset about it, then don’t watch the damn movie. simple as that.

LOVE GARY OLDMAN !!!!! He looks different in every movie he makes … some actors always look the same and sound the same… not Gary Oldman, he disguises himself thru accents and different looks. Each movie he makes, he’s a believable character !!!! Love all your movies !!!!

      Yeah he’s awesome.

  • lisa

Yea, anne hataway seems too..wrong for that movie. Good actress, but I can think of like 20 actresses better suited for that part.

that’s what everyone said about heath ledger as the joker and we all know how that turned out…

      • http://showbizspy Henry

Did it EVER occur to you that just MAYBE, there are reasonable people out here who think heath ledger was a crappy joker?

      • Marsupial

        No

      • any person

        no

      • dooz

Henry, you mean oscar-winning actor, heath ledger? ummm… no.

  • MadEye

    Serius Black!!!

    • Chris woodburn

The actor your thinking of is joseph gordon levitt and he will be in the movie just not playing the joker but i do think he would be a good joker but it would be disrespectful to heath’s memory so i agree with not recasting the joker

  • Irishnoble

Hey anyone think that if they wanted to bring the Joker back, How about the actor from Third Rock from the sun… to play the part.

  • Chris woodburn

I think the next movie will be awesome nolan knows what he’s doing so i trust his judgement on casting choices and as far as anybody not liking heath leger not playing a good joker they are obviously on drugs he gave the best acting performance of all time hands down

    Excellent actor!

  • Juggalotus

With Bane in it, it better be the Knightfall story, in which Bruce gets his back broke by him.

  • james north

not that I can read, but this article seems to be about Gary Oldman, not Heath Ledger, just sayin.

  • vanny

In years as a heavy Internet user, I don’t I’ve ever come across a more uniformly idiotic group. But keep at it. We don’t want you leaving Mom’s house and reproducing.

Ya know, this obsession with this movie and other super hero movies (and I love them as well) is very telling about this society; I think we need to have the feeling we have some control over what we feel we cannot control. We have a need to retain and guard our morality when religion has failed us. The fact is we shoud trust our conscience as this is been built into us as a result of evolution; we are moral human beings, and are a moral society that does not need religion to dictate right from wrong. We are our own superheroes and we should have faith in such.

    • Just Saying

That is the dumbest thing I have ever read.

Only a complete moron (or a 12 year old retard) would think that humans are innately good. Go live in the real world ya man-nerd.

Without religion or politics people would be murdering, raping and looting their way through life like it was nobody’s business. Humans are naturally destructive…period.

      • John McManus

Wow, talk about 12 year old behavior. I never said humans were innately good. Humans are a combination of good and bad, and no, we don’t need religion to guide morality. The most primitive societies had a moral order. And if being educated makes me a nerd, that’s fine. You should think about becoming a nerd yourself.

Gary Oldman is an execellent actor who is underated and has not yet received proper recognition.

@ Star Carlton in response to his comment: “Good news so far. Only bad news about the movie is who is playing catwoman – imo – that actress should not be in this movie.”

I said the same exact thing when I found out Heath Ledger was going to play the Joker. He just did not fit the role with past movies he had done. Lo and behold, he turned out to be fan-frigging-tastic! All I am saying is, let’s see what Anne Hathaway can do before jumping to conclusions. I’m certain she wouldn’t have been chosen for the role if they didn’t see some massive potential in her like they did with Heath.

  • veronica

No joker should’nt come back!!! but only Jonnhy Depp could pull it off!

  • Oswald

Well I for one believe that mr. Oldman is a good actor and he’s the best Gordon yet if you ask me. Now Heath Ledger is gone and it would be wrong to have someone else play his role but they ought to use computer graphics cause I mean they have quite good technology nowadays. Yes I believe if they do end up bringing him back then they should use CG. Also btw all there are people who speak of the “real world” and well I am a close confidant to Michael Jackson and well he is a very peaceful person, he wants peace and love and there are people who try to make wars and kill each other. I believe that this planet has some stupid people on it and the mean people need to listen to Michael, they need to know about peace. Please all of you need to know about peace, now me I have a million dollars so I don’t have a thing to worry about but the poor do and we need to help them too. My friend has given millions and he still secretly does and we need to respect him but more importantly learn from him and help those in need, God bless and may you all find peace.
