Whoopi GoldbergWHOOPI Goldberg is worried she’s being fired from The View!

The actress is said to be convinced boss Barbara Walters won’t be renewing her contract as moderator of the show after Whoopi ripped the New York Times for not listing her Oscar in a story about black actors.

“No one has come to Whoopi offering to extend her contract,” a source source told American tabloid the National Enquirer. “But even though she has a ball on the show, Whoopi’s said herself she doesn’t necessarily think she’s a good fit — and she’s prepared to ride off into the sunset before she’ll change who she is.

“Barbara’s had scolding words for Whoopi in the past year, yet she isn’t keen to fire her — they’re longtime friends and ratings have been decent — but she’s definitely tiring of her act.

“In a perfect world, Barbara would like to see Elisabeth Hasselbeck replace Whoopi as the show’s leader/moderator — but you can’t really demote Whoopi without dumping her completely, so…”

      whoopi is fun and informed and unique. so is barbara. Hasslebeck–if she gets any more speaking parts I will never watch the View again. I left because I couldn’t take rosie. I have been devoted to show since inception–Elizabeth no Lisa Ling!! She fills the conservative voice which barbara thinks she needs. And that new show “The Talk”=pretty bad.

    I didn’t mind when Star left, or Rosie..but if Whoopi goes..I go! She and Joy are the only reason even watch that show..The Talk is looking better and better to me the more I hear about this!

      I agree I loved, admire, Woopi Goldberg..If they let her go will not see the show..As far as I am consern Elizabeht can go..One thing she has been pretty good past months..WOOPI BETTER NO LET HER GO SICK…..

    I only watch the view because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Whoppie Goldberg. If she goes I go, never watched the View very often until Whoppie came to the show. I think you will lose a lot of viewers, I will boycott forever!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ummm… because it’s Barbara’s show? That’s why they don’t get rid of her? Hmph – the “they” IS Barbara…..

    ps – I’d say as the creator of The View, Barb has every right to get rid of whom she wants…. but, I doubt Whoopi will be leaving anytime soon…

    Whoopie makes the show, and if she goes, so do i as a viewer. Its getting pretty frustrating watching Barbara cut Whoopie off when she is speaking. Its almost like Sherri, Elizabeth and Barbara are a team, going against Whoopie and Joy. This season is given me a whole new view on Barbara…and its not good.

    The View has had it’s day. It’s time for Barbara to retire, go, get lost….Oh, and take Elizabeth with you. I find myself watching The Talk & Wendy Williams more often than The View.

    oh no. i love Whoopie; along with Joy and sometimes Barbara.
    Elizabeth and Sheerie get on my nerves sometimes with theier dumbness… so why not just get rid of them instead?

        This story lost all potential to be meaningful when they said that Babs would replace Whoopi Goldberg with Elizabeth Hasselback as the moderator? there goes your viewership. People tune into that show to see Joy and Whoopi…not Babwa Wawa….not Space Cadet Sherri and certainly not Palin lover Hasselbeck. Get real.

    I think it is time for Barbara to hang it up the old broad looks like her face is going to crack when she “tries” to smile. I am 74 yrs old and certainly not a young one, but Barbara WA WA has had her day in the sun and if she does not renew Whoopie’s contract she will have one less viewer. I DVR the show and will not miss it, so I hope what I am hearing about Whoppie is not true. I also want to make another comment about the show with Donald Trump, I am so glad that Whoopie stood up the IGNORENT person that he is, with all his money, I have to sign off by saying he is a big jerk.

    Agree with all, Woopi the best that has happen to The View..The one I just do not like is Elizabeth. Still she has been gd. past month or so..Admire Joy so much the best..Those two, so they better not let her go..Like to know where this has come from..Woopi the best…

    I believe that they all bring the proper mix to the show. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! I especially Love Whoopi and Joy but I also appreciate Elizabeth’s opposing view (although I think that like most Bill O’Reilly republicans she drank the kool-aid).

    Whoopi is a tired opinionated old broad who is past whatever prime she may have had. Elizabeth is the only one who speaks with any common sense. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Whoopi

    I think Whoopie’s attitude has been too cynical. She doesn’t make the show more enjoyable. Its only lately that her attitude has improved probably because she is afraid of not getting her contract renewed. A lot of times, I feel that she doesn’t like being part of the show but is only doing it for the money. I’m also tired of seeing her very weird outfits: its like she’s wearing camping tents. As for Joy, she’s a very smart woman no doubt, but she’s very unreceptive to opinions that don’t match her own. It also seems like she’s in it for the money. Sherri is good because she seems to show the most respect for the audience. I think the View’s days are numbered.

    i totally agree that whoopie has a very good personality, and i personally think shes good at hacking out the gossip. ibut f they were fire her fuck them because i could see her doing her very own t alk show lol. she so funny.hint oprah is leaving so whoopie should take over. not a bad idea at all

    I’m 52 now and I watch the view daily. More importantly, I have watched whoopie goldberg’s great talent as an actor and great comedian for many years. She matter-a-fact is my favorite female actress/comedian since Lucy, that’s how great, whoopie goldberg is to me. If you get rid of whoopie goldberg on the view….me, along with many other viewer fans will leave the show too. The only reason I came to this web site was to ask whoopie when she was going to do another movie. It didn’t have anything to do with the other cast members…so there

    I think its time the whole thing is canned. Joy has her own show, Whoppi can make it on her own, Sherri has her stand-up (plus all the drama of her upcoming wedding…..ugh..) and game show host activities and Elisabeth can peddle her opinions elsewhere and sell clothes. Barbara, well, has seen better days. Get out while on top. It seems so obvious that when Elisabeth sits in Barbara’s chair that she thinks she is the “QUEEN.” Non-stop talking and monopolizing the whole segment. Quit while you are/where ahead.

    If Whoopi goes than so I do I. She makes the show interesting, and Hasselback give me a break. She is so frustrating to listen to and her opinion, please lets get real, we are watching for the news but all she wants to do is talk abut Sarah Palin, if I want any news of a wannabe like her, then I will watch the news not Elizabeth wanna be Sarah. Seriously Whoopi and Joy make the show, if she goes your show will fall. You better make good with her.

    The view has a whole lot more watchers than before because everyone loves Whoopi.Whoopi had better stay on the view if not Barbara you may not have a show.Because if you put elisabeth as moderator will its over for not alot of people care for her at all.Whoopi is the one who makes the view her, and Joy so I suggest you are very careful in what you choose because I’m with Whoopi all the way.Good luck Whoopi we all love you,and your out spoken views.Barbara its now time you LEFT THE BUILDING !!!!!
