The actress — who’s married to Tom Cruise — has revealed her husband got her a sewing machine for her birthday.

“My husband got me a sewing machine for my birthday,” Holmes told Women’s Wear Daily, adding that she likes to get daughter Suri involved.

“My mom grew up making curtains and pillows and everything, and it made our home very warm, so I like to do things like that with my daughter,” she said.

Katie recently dished the dirt on Suri’s shopping habits.

“The other day we came out of a store, and she said, ‘I want to go there,’ pointing at another store quite a distance away,” she said.

“In that store was the dress that she wanted. I said, ‘Wow, Suri. You’re something. You picked that out from a football field away.’

“She’ll really tell me [what she thinks]. Like today I’m wearing brown suede pants, and she said, ‘I don’t like your pants.’ But then she’ll say, ‘You’ve got to wear these shoes.’ Or ‘That’s so pretty, Mom. Wear that.’ She’s got a great eye.”
