Stephen King: Walking Dead Episode to be Written by Stephen King?

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Stephen KingSTEPHEN King is reportedly set to write a script for an episode for the AMC zombie series The Walking Dead.

The legendary novelist is said to be in early talks to co-write an episode with his son Joe Hill.

King told Entertainment Weekly magazine that Frank Darabont, the show’s executive producer, “has expressed enthusiastic interest for season 2 or possibly 3.”

Darabont directed and wrote the screenplays for the 1994 movie The Shawshank Redemption and the 1999 film The Green Mile, both of which are based on King’s stories.

The second season of The Walking Dead is expected to air in the fall of 2011.

I remember when he “wrote” an episode of the XFiles…it was a suckfest and had to be rewritten. We’ll see…..

    • Keith

The one with the doll, dude that x-Files episode was aaaawesome!

  • Judas

Oh, no! Don’t let him write the script or direct any episode. He’s a really, really great author but when it comes to the script, he sucks big time. All the stories he wrote were great if they’re adapted by others! Think THE SHINING, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, DREAM CATCHERS, THE GREEN MILE, CARRIE….

      Judas youre an idiot.
If youve actually READ any of those books then seen the movies, youd know the Green Mile was word for word EXACTLY like the book, the Shining was awesome, Shawshank was awesome, etc. The only movie of his (not counting the stand which was made for TV and horrible! It should have been in 2 parts in the thater with a bigger budget, imo)

…was Dreamcatcher. That movie was NOTHING like the book, which wasnt HIS doing. At the halfway point you can tell the Director just threw the book out the window. He has written some of the best horror fiction of all time, and you dont think he could handle The Walking Dead?

Now if we can only get him to keep his mouth shut about politics, something he obviously knows NOTHING about!

        *meant to say
..The only movie of his that really stunk (besides the Stand) was Dreamcatcher.

Hearts in Atlantis, and Stand By Me were his also.
