ELIZABETH Banks is a mommy!
The 30 Rock actress announced Wednesday that she and her husband have welcomed a baby boy born via gestational surrogate.
“What’s greater than overjoyed? Megajoyed? Add humility, love, awe,” Banks wrote on Twitter. “Sprinkle w cute. Result: my new life as a mom. It’s a boy!”
Banks also shared the news on her official blog.
“I have been very fortunate in life both professionally and personally,” she wrote. “The one true hurdle I’ve faced in life is that I have a broken belly. After years of trying to get pregnant, exploring the range of fertility treatments, all unsuccessful, our journey led us to gestational surrogacy.”
The actress goes on to call meeting the right surrogate and the healthy birth of her son “two miracles.”
Banks has a recurring role as Jack Donaghy’s (Alec Baldwin) wife on the 30 Rock, and has several film projects in various stages of development.
