John Edwards’ Woes Continue to Mount! Former Aide Re-Interviewed About Shamed John Edwards!

A top aide for the shamed politician  was re-interviewed by prosecutors as an ongoing investigation continues into whether or not the former Senator broke campaign rules by using funds to cover up his affair.

Andrew Young was seen leaving his attorney’s office after a four hour meeting with prosecutors on Thursday, reports the Associated Press.

The investigation has been taking place for nearly two years. The Justice Department is still deciding whether or not to indict Edwards, who is being investigated for covering up his affair with Rielle Hunter, a videographer for the campaign at the time. Young posed as the father of Edwards and Hunter’s baby for a period of time, and explained further attempts made by Edwards to hide the affair.

Recent reports claimed Edwards took advantage of a wealthy 100-year-old supporter to cover up the fact that he had an out-of-wedlock baby with his mistress, according to a new report.

Interior decorator Bryan Huffman — a key witness in the federal grand jury investigation of Edwards’ presidential campaign — told American tabloid the National Enquirer that John misled Bunny Mellon, the super-wealthy campaign contributor who’s been dubbed the ex-North Carolina senator’s “Sugar Mama.”

“I feel it was a misleading situation and an unfortunate situation,” Huffman said.

“She and I found out — about the girlfriend and the baby — like the rest of the country. We had absolutely no knowledge about them.”

Prosecutors are rushing to record testimony from Mellon because of her advanced age.

Her statement could be used at a federal trial if Edwards is indicted and could potentially send him to jail.

    Seems funny how prosecutors love to go after the sex lives of politicians. Are they lonely, jealous or just perverts? They went after President Clinton for 8 years and all they could find was he likes girls. I guess it takes attention away from powerful and wealthy criminals the justice department is hired to protect.

    The Mellon camp is full of it. Bunny knew exactly what those checks were for. And Huffman was allowing her to funnel them through him to Atty. Edwards. I agree with the poster above who said they should just let him take care of his family. He is the only parent those kids have left. At most they should just do house arrest if they insist on prosecuting him and he is convicted. When anyone can truly say they haven’t made mistakes, then they are welcome to cast the first stone.

    And don’t bother telling me he duped the American public. He only duped those naive enough to take him strictly at face value. I respect him as an attorney, but he IS narcissistic. I was surprised we hadn’t heard about affairs during his run. With Kerry. Men like that cheat. And Americans need to start using their brains more en they size up candidates.
