Robert Pattinson Thought he Had Small Role in Water for Elephants

Robert PattinsonROBERT Pattinson “didn’t realize” how big his role in Water for Elephants was until he movie started shooting.

The 24-year-old actor — who plays vet Jacob Jankowski who falls in love with circus performer Marlena Rosenbluth in the film — was stunned his workload was much bigger than that of his costars Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz.

“When I first read the script — because I didn’t have that many lines — I just thought, ‘Oh OK I get it. I’m like the eyes of the audience,” he said.

“It’s going to be a big spectacle movie that isn’t solely resting on my shoulders…’ So I was very relaxed about it, going in.

“I only realized about halfway through. I was working every single day. Reese was hardly ever in and Christoph only came in sporadically. I was like, ‘How did this happen?’ ”

The Twilight Saga star is hopeful fans will enjoy the movie because it is so different to anything else being made at the moment.

“Hopefully people will think it’s a good movie. I have a feeling that a lot of people will like it,” he added.

“I don’t think a lot of other movies coming out are anything like it, and when I was working on the film, it didn’t feel like anything else that was being made.”

    I really feel bad.Rob is so hopeful about this movie.I went to robsessed.com and anything about tw had over 200 comments while the wfe topics had 20-30 comments.I think they should have cast someone younger than reese.Many are not going to see it because of the age difference.The twihards are such lunatics that they can’t really stand R without K.

They HATE the fact that he usually has more chemistry with his other female co-stars than he has with Bitchface. AND they usually end up THREATENING that female co-star to KEEP AWAY from him! :lol:

You must have forgotten the campaign for the Saturday of the opening for Remember Me. It was Remember Me Saturday. Asking for all his TW fans to go out and support his movie.         You obviously don’t know Robssessed.com very well. They refused to promote that campaign til the last day before the release. All the other RP sites did it weeks before.They also were in contact with the Delaney person who illegally leaked Summit photos of Eclipse in the middle of RM promotion.
        The site is completely in the hands of the sheep. It’s a Robsten fansite not Robert Pattinson site. But if you want to go to a place that has no problem with posting private photos that invade the privacy of the actor you claim to be fan then do it.

        You can deny it all you want for your own reasons but Kristen and Rob have amazing sexual chemistry. Their relationship is what makes the TS films and will keep fans coming back for BD. I feel sad for the director, Kristen and Rob for the pics that were hacked. It must be frustrating to put work into the film and have pics put out that are not ready for the final movie. It might not have an impact in the end but it is disconcerting.

        It’s true, rob and kristen have the worst on screen chemistry. Probably coming from the fact that she is not right for the role. I don’t know why anyone would want to see them together in real life…poor rob. I have also heard the same about that site.

        I actually go to see the movies inspite of Kristen to see how they turn out. The only part she did well in was the scene after Edward left in ‘New Moon’ where she was supposed to be zombie-like.

        Now that she lost an award, watch Summit really bring on the PR, BS. Not only did she lose but she lost to someone with far less experience than her. Miley is a singer and tv star, wow KS going to have to step up her game, if she wants the teens that voted against her in the theater for BD. IMO they are tired of the PR regarding these two just as much as the adults. Don’t believe they are buying the hype about her and Rob anymore. Many of Twilight fans are getting older, and many have become adults since the first film, so they can see for themselves that something is not right about the faux romance.

        Reese did say he uses military style covert operation to get around the fans, but that’s understood it he’s traveling for personal reason or even business. IMO for the outings they do for fans of them together there should be a pic or something by now with them that’s not questionable. That last pic didn’t count Rob seemed to not to have cared that she was in the back behind the fans instead of upfront with him.

        There is a photo of her passport from Argentina that shows when she came to Hungary and when she left London. Namely on Monday.

    Until the Twilight saga is over it will be hard for any of them to break away. If it had been one movie it would be a different story. The twifans are a dedicated brunch and are wrapped up in the romance. Can’t blame them, it is pretty heady. I’m not sure if the Potter cast has been able to break away, I don’t think so. But I have read good things about WFE, so it has a very good chance of doing well.

    well, just me saying…i loved the twi books, and thought the movie twilight was good. robert caught my attention in that film. i thought he played a perfect edward. i really liked his acting style. i thought k/s played a perfect bella. because of twilight the movie, i was looking forward to new moon and eclipse. both were major disappointments. i did not like the directors of both films. the screen writing was horrible as was the acting on k/s part. no emotion what so ever.ugh! pattinson was good in the beginning of n.m.and at the end. in eclipse i could not recognize his character edward at all! nor bellas.

    i am not going to get excited over b.d. 1 & 2. i will go and watch it but i am not expecting much. i think the whole getting prego by a vampire, spawning a half breed and turning into one is a bit of a stretch to show on film. i really don’t think it will come across well.
    it is another thing reading about it in a book.one’s own creativity is the censor.ha ha! when you do a visual on that type of material it just doesn’t work. just sayn’

    now on the other hand since my interest in pattinson is his acting abilities and not as a piece of meat, i AM looking forward to WFE, BEL AMIS, and COSMOPOLIS. just to find out if my origional hunches were right about him.

      Summit was disturbed by Lainey gossip and other sites that hinted Rob was headed for a breakdown and has a drinking problem, all that has followed is cleanup. Stephanie Meyer is a producer on BD and she has had enough of the gossip and inuendo, Rob saying he thinks it’s weird being the poster boy for something he doesn’t even like did not go over well with the people in charge. He’s a loose cannon and keeps saying what he thinks so he could affect box office with Rob fans who could start hating BD because he does, then the money stops coming in. It’s good he’s getting away from these people and the lies they tell to increase profits.

    So, Summit released R rated pictures that have been filmed for this purpose only (those shoots were aimed to be used as free propaganda from the beginning) and then they call wolf. “Please don’t watch the images, wait for the movie it will be beautiful” – I just lost brain cells with this idiotic comment.

    Summit, most adults are completely aware that those shoots would never be part of a PG-13 movie, which is this movie’s main audience…And lets not forget Stephanie Meyers personal standards…

    But despite being such an obvious PR stunt it worked wonders…the robstens are high on Bella/Edward´s love…Some alternative public is interested in the disgusting birth scenes…and the robstens have already written their Christmas presents list…The BD DVD with special extras(the sexy dirty scenes that they won’t be able to watch in the cinema). Oh, and now Summit is a Do-gooder, because they won’t sue. Can one sue one’self? Such an existentialist question!LMAO

        No, Joyce, it was talked about alot on these boards last year after David Slade’s contract had finished and he was quoted as saying that she was one of the worst actresses he had ever worked with. She would tell HIM how a scene should be shot, but was unable to take any critisisim about her own work. He said she should have concentrated on HER work, not telling EVERYONE else how to do their job and he was glad when filming had finished.

    TDG- I totally get what you are saying about her pushiness.. Rob even made a comment in an interview once that sometimes when he thought the scene was perfect she would say no… let’s do it again. But…..KS was horribly sick and throwing up during the re-shoot of the tent scene. She had food poisoning. I really doubt she would want to do the re-shoot at all. for that I give her credit for being a trooper. Her only job was to lay there and sleep and maybe chatter her teeth but when you’re sick like that ..even that’s no fun.

      Carlab, did you not know that it WAS Bitchface who wanted the Eclipse re-shoots? I thought everyone knew that. She hated the way her wig looked on film, so she got SM on her side, then had to BEG Rob, TL and DS to re-shoot some scenes, including the tent and meadow scenes. THAT’S why she went to Budapest for her birthday. AND she took along MA with her, except he flew out on an earlier flight because Scummit and her KNEW that the sheep were hoping to see her spend it with Rob.

        Actually Queen, forgive me but I saw an interview with Stephanie Meyer and it was Stephanie who asked for the re-shoot of the tent scene not KS. Stephanie said that in the original version Jacob was barely touching KS and that his positioning needed to be different. It really had nothing to do with KS. Stephanie wasn’t happy with parts of it. We can’t blame everything on her.

      Truth, there is no way that Scummit wouldn’t release him to promote WFE. WWhen he was filming WFE, FOX released him to promote Eclipse and I’m sure that FOX will make Scummit return the favour. After all, FOX ARE the bigger studio in HW and so have way more pulling power than Scummit.
      And we know that he’s been doing PR for WFE over the weekend with Reese, so I’m guessing he WILL be at the ACMA’s tonight to present with her, as per FOX’s request.

It seemed like that award show handed out maybe 5 awards.. the rest was like a concert.. It was so boring! Anyways… Rob and Reese were cute and I really hope this movie does well. And no ladies.. he’s not in love with Reese. geezzzz. LOL

    Rob pattinson has a new MTV interview on robstenation,calling hackers “shit”& “dick” for leaking those BD2 photos,go tell ‘em Rob ,and hes telling real twilight fans to police their own.I dont know if im imaging things but when Josh mention about the marriage ,he kind of got shock by it,and recover and said they havent even shoot it yet!what could it mean?are they married in real life or Josh just caught him off guard.Just wondering!

        with all due respect,

        imo – i think Scummit got exactly what they were looking for – a huge reaction – they can’t begin to pay for this kind of web based insanity..
        - and the fact that R addressed it means he knew about it – even though it was only on the web – so can you spell ‘script’ for R say – that just confirms it in my mind (like i had any doubt from the beginning)- the ‘leaks’ for all for the splash and squeals of the Robsten believers.. and R is enjoying the squeals (great press for him) but saying ‘not ok’ so that Scummit doesn’t look like the pr manipulators that they are… just saying..

        I agree with you there, but what I meant about the reaction thing was:

        obviously they got fans getting all hyped up and interested, but people are also complaining that it’s not suitable and it should be given a higher rating. Maybe this is why they’ll be reshooting the water scenes in Florida. And with RP, he said in the interview, when he was asked about it, that he was gonna bring it up himself.

        i agree with you – and if R was going to bring it up any way – you know he was scripted..
        but let’s play this out a bit shall we?- we know that Scummit launched Robsten including Hardwicke making the ‘jail bait’ comment from the beginning – so it has been sexual tension from the start b/w Edward and Bella and R/K pr performances (just like the books) imo
        - how fun would it be to actually get to film a ‘love scene’(knowing it wouldn’t be in the final cut pg-13 after all) release it on the internet to create free pr for all the tweens and teens and Twi moms and then ‘have’ to do the whole honeymoon scene AGAIN a few months before BD is released and in the United States where the largest fan base is? just think about it… oh how R and K must love to have their ‘work’ being exploited like this all for the love of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. no wonder R looks like sh*t and K rarely comes out from under her rock – can’t say i would be to proud of these circumstances either… just saying…

    Click- Although you are partially right about KS.. first of all she wasn’t born in HW… she grew up in the Valley.. very different and Jake G. was nominated for an oscar for goodness sake (Brokeback Mountain) I think he is a good actor although he’s not good at English Accents.. LOL.. hmmm Prince of Persia. My son loves that movie and I thought it was okay.. better than critics gave it credit for. But that’s because of his supporting cast. That accent was just so bad. LOL. Funny thing is there are many great american actors who can’t seem to master an English accent.

    Sam- let me ask you this…If KS and Rob are truly together would you really want this type of relationship for them? Never to show public affection, Rob not treating KS like a lady by opening doors for her, KS constantly treating Rob like an idiot by the constant embarrassing comments she says about him.. calling him flippy because of teh size of his hands??? They hardly seem like a couple in love. In fact they seem more like best friends.. buds. They hardly ever see one another because of their work schedule and they can’t even be in the same place without causing a PAPS frenzy.

    What’s up Carlab.Worked most of Sat.all Sun.boy I can’t leave you guys alone for one second,your at each others throats I see.I used to always think we were worce at fighting each other,but guys are tamed compared to women,you guys fight like cats and dogs.
    I think KS has put some sort of gag order on kissing photos,coz she doesn’t want to disrupt the set of BD.You know Carlab,take away from the fans focus,once the film is released,she seems to be very precise and insistent about that.
    My Red Sox lost all three games to Texas over the weekend,to start the new seson.Angels lost two of their first three.
    Slept like a baby this weekend,I think maybe it’s this new pillow case I got recently,or something not sure???
