Reba McEntire Rips Taylor Swift! Singer Reba McEntire Mocks Star For Writing About Ex-Boyfriends!

Reba McEntireREBA McEntire has dissed Taylor Swift!

The American country music artist and actress mocked the Love Story hitmaker for always writing songs about her ex-boyfriends.

“If you make her mad, she’ll write a song about you,” Reba said.

Reba has previously taken aim at Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.

Reba McEntire has scored more than a dozen platinum-selling albums and more than 50 US top 10 country singles.

    Reba’s also made digs at the Dixie Chicks and the French right after 9/11 and before the Iraq War making stupid jokes while she hosted in those years. She’d be lucky to have 1 good song she could call her own, she cant even shine the Dixie Chicks shoes! She’s another conservative Republican who somehow works in show business.       The new younger generation of singers don’t really know alot about real committment in their relationships …..they just live with someone a while, have a baby, move on to someone else, have another baby, move on to someone else……..and keep writing songs about all of them..         I agree with you Paul M. – all of Reba’s songs were written by others, she has not written any of her hit songs. As far as her personal side, as soon as she hit it big, she left her farmer husband who supported her 100% in the early years. Class act.

      Unfortunately I missed the show; therefore,I don’t know the context of the statement Reba made. As stated here I hardly consider it a dig. It is a well known much talked about (by many people) fact that Taylor writes about mainly ex’s who make her made. I have been a Reba fan for many years and she is a true class act.
      As for the Dixie Chicks – well they made their own Liberal bed I hope they enjoy sleeping in it. As far as the French go – well I wish they still called them Freedom Fries.
      Oh and by the way – she’s “always” a host because people love and respect her. I don’t expect to ever see the DCs hosting this event.

      1. The Dixie who? Reba’s been around making hits for 20 years. the Dixie Chicks are now warm up act for other performers.
      2. The french were selling arms to Hussein, Iran, Syria, Al Queda, etc. They buy from us, and sell to whoever has the money.

    Thank you Miss Reba! Someone needs to throw cold water on all the brainwashed Taylor Swift groupies! You see comments all the time about the massive disappointment of those who actually can discern music from expensive PR moves at Swift’s concerts. They feel cheated , and rightfully so. Odd that while McEntire has taken shots at groups, such as the Dixie Chicks , whose ‘leader’ dug her own professional grave, she keeps turning in stellar performances ,in multiple venues. Where are the Chicks now? Maines is floundering, and the other two are performing. Which is what people were paying to see. Performances. Not political rants. Swift seems bent on remaining a 13 year old who lashes out at everyone that she can. Listen to her lyrics-someone is always ‘mean’ to her. Oh puhleeeeeze! Professional performers show up, know their stuff and live private lives, privately. Longevity, in multiple venues in the entertainment industry takes ability, and it’s more than obvious that in the long haul those that have ‘careers’ longer than a few months have ability.

      I agree with Sherri. While Taylor is a very beautiful young woman, and writes all her own songs, she is not a very good singer. She cannot hold a candle to Reba, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles and Kelly Clarkson and others.     Out of all the 45 Albums (studio & compilation) Reba has put out, only (more than a dozen means 13) are multi platinum??? Taylor Swift has 3 albums out and 3 are mulitplatinum. Dixie Chicks (with Natalie Maines)have 4 Albums (all of which were No.1) and all are Multiplatinum. Hum, seems someone is a little Jealous? If you can’t beat em, talk about em!

    Duh everyone….if you watched the show you know it was meant in jest. After saying that she also said she didn’t know why any guy would break up with her, she is talented, beautiful and a very nice person. Reba is mild compared to MTV awards.     Reab has 28 albums which are Gold, 19 Platinum and 9 Multi-Platinum. She’s been singing since the 70′s. 40+ years with number one songs in each decade. Going Multi-Platinum is easier nowadays than it was in the 70′s and 80′s.
    Multi-Platinum didn’t even get recognized until ’84. In ’89 the requirement was lowered for all levels. Not sure if they went back and awarded Reba baased on her old albums.

    Anyway the comment was most likely a joke and Reba has has a long and amazing career. Including losing her entire band in a plane crash!!

    Nice job at the awards show! Hope to hear and see more of Reba. Even on TV again!

    Taylor Swift can only dream of being half the woman Reba McIntyre has become. Reba is not only beautiful, talented and smart but also an amazing humanitarian. She has done so much for so many people and used her voice to promote the well-being of others less fortunate. What has Taylor done? And please remember, the quotes are only partial to make the most of a misguided public. Reba wouldn’t stoop so low as to actually ‘diss’ someone. She made a much broader statement that was a reflection on the poor choices made by today’s entertainers. She worked on her marriage and makes it work vs. throwing in the towel and making millions off her pain. Taylor will grow and change as she ages but sadly won’t ever have the career Reba made for herself the old fashioned way. She wasn’t a commodity and certainly didn’t have her place in the OPRY handed to her like so many of the ‘Stars’ today who are given an honor on the Hollywood Walk of Fame just for showing up.

      LOL she’s 56, which is hardly old. She still looks like she’s in her 40′s. She’s still putting out hit songs, and selling out concerts. She has had a successful acting career on top of her incredible music career. She has been willing mentor and friend to Taylor, and the other up and coming young female vocalists. What exactly does she have to be bitter about, she gets better and better each year??

      Besides, if you actually had a few brain cells functioning at full steam, you’d know that the article here is a piece of tabloid trash, taking one line out of an entire event and turning it into hateful drama that never happened in the first place. Reba was doing the typical humorous MC type routine that happens at every awards show.

      First…college isn’t for everyone. Let’s remember that. And she made Shelby a deal if he tried college, and didn’t like it, then he could leave and try something else……but he had to maintain a high average, and get involve in things. And he did. Now, Shelby only 5 months of “schooling” and tarining before he was actually in his first race (The Continental Tire Grand-Am 200 Series) and he actually ended up leading his first race. Shelby is a very good driver. Secondly, Reba said Taylor Swift was beautiful, talented and sweet, and that she didn’t know why all these guys kept breaking up with her.     2. This is just my opinion; Taylor isn’t as good of a singer as Reba, but Taylor is a great songwriter and a phenomenal entertainer!

      First off, how can you idolize Taylor Swift and yet not have a clue who Reba is? I don’t even know if that is possible.

      Secondly, Taylor is known – by her own admission – to get the inspiration for the majority of her songs from relationships, both current and past – in particular from break-ups. To the point that this last album was like a scavenger hunt to figure out which song was about/for which guy. She even joined in on that one confirming (or denying) the speculation. It is a common joke about/with/for her that is well known and accepted/affirmed by Taylor herself.

      Finally (and this one is for Delusional in your other response) – I am well into adulthood, and I like Taylor. Can’t say I am gaga over Zac and Vanessa and I HATE Twilight stuff lol… but liking a specific artist isn’t age specific and has nothing to do with maturity, it has to do with musical preference. I love Reba too, if that helps haha!
