Tyler Perry — Tyler Perry Wants The World to be More Like Madea!

Tyler PerryTYLER Perry says the world would be a “much better place” if everyone were more like his onscreen alter-ego Madea.

The movie-maker reprises the role in new flick Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family.

“It would be a much better place,” Perry said.

“I think there would be a lot more car crashes, there would be a lot more people in jail, there would be a lot more people going through things, but everybody would be free — there’d be no stress. There’d be no stress at all — none.”

Madea’s Big Happy Family is the sixth movie where Perry, 41, portrays the mouthy matriarch — and Tyler admits he’s surprised the movie-going public keep coming back for more.

“I have no idea [why people keep coming back], that is an ugly woman,” joked Perry. “I have no idea, but I’m glad they do and I’m glad that it uplifts and encourages… I think that’s why people come, because it uplifts and encourages them and it makes them laugh.

“I’m in character before I put the costume on, she comes out of nowhere. That’s the police, looking for her now in that helicopter. I just feel her all the time.”

    Many of us can relate to your Madea character, personally speaking we have her in our family also. I think alot of people have a Madea in their family, you know when she shows up all kinds of chaos will happen. Keep bringing her back we love her. lol

    Tyler Perry always has the same story line. A woman gets rapped/molested, bad children that need to learn discipline, unstable marriages, and buffoonery…he could never be a John Singleton and make a classic like Boyz in the Hood. C’mon, Madea is getting old. Change it up. All black people don’t act crazy like that. Represent the student going to college make a movie about those young black people!! Don’t keep representing a contradictory character that is ignorant but has all these valuable lessons. Crashing your car through a fast food restaurant? That’s not even funny it’s a Modern day MINSTREL SHOW and Tyler Perry continues to represent it. Madea will not advance the Black American People. But hey it’s still Hollywood regardless if he has his own studio.

      I disagree that Tyler Perry’s movies only show the Madea character. All his movies show different kinds of lives for Black people like hood life, Successful Black doctors, lawyers, businesses, gainfully employed men and women and that, to me is real life which his movies are based on. If you want to pretend that Madeas do not exist in real life, hey… knock yourself out but let those who enjoy TP’s movies do so. It’s the beauty of life, choice.

      All black people aren’t from the hood. John Singleton and Spike Lee work is excellent, however, everyone do not relate to New York and LA life (majority of their films). At times, people want to get away from the troubles of the world. Who wants to see a black film that’s always about gang banging, race relations, and the hood girl. Spike and John’s films are the reasons for those type of stereotypes. Tyler tapped into a new market and making MILLIONS. We, as black people, are so damn insecure. Celebrate diversity amongst the community BEFORE tackling “the man”.

      so umm boyz in the hood is about what?? the same thing only its depressing Im not black and i love madea movies. Each one has a message about changing for the positive and shows real problems and how you can handle a situation in a human way. Not just Madea movies look at for colored girls its just about being real and Madea comes out in those movies because sometimes those subjects are so dark that he needs a way to lighten the mood i hope he continues making movies Madeas Big Happy Family was hilarious

      When I read a few post previously that Perry’s Madea is compared to a minstrel show, I know that person is totally myopic about this character. I belive that person wants to be like the olds of MGM where the generic american culture was a perfect class of folks who did not cuss or fuss about personal issues. Thank God for Madea!!!

        There were movies like that….Did you see “Daddy’s little girls”? or the “Family that prey’s”? How about I can do bad all by myself? Or even Why did I get married one and two.

        Stop looking for all the negative stuff and look at the positive. People, people, people. We all were not born in NY or LA. We are all over the place. The south is different than the north or west and we are just as diverse as anyone else.

        Tyler is a God send, he tells our stories from many different perspectives. Stop being so damn serious and learn to laugh at yourself. That’s what’s wrong with our community now, we always looking for negative shit to talk about. Madea is just a person who a “woman” who takes a serious subject and adds humor.

        If there was a movie about a strip club and there girls all slept with one another, then got arrested just to find out that they have the same baby daddies, who happened to look like Tyrese and he sells dope on the street and got shot, then turned his life around to start preaching, then he got caught selling crack behind the pulpit, then you would run to see a movie like that and say it was good.

        To the haters, if Tyler asked you to be in one of his movies, you would jump at the chance to be in one of them. So stop and take a look at your own pathetic lifes and learn to love and laugh…..DAMN!!!!!

    While I really like Tyler Perry’s movies it would be great to see him try something different as an actor/director. A serious film about a subject matter that doesn’t involve dysfunctional people coping with humor would be a nice change of pace.

    Anyone who takes what Perry said and coming away with the meaning that all men should dress in drag is an IDIOT!! If the world had more Madeas these fools who call themselves “thugs” would have more discipline!! They would have more RESPECT for their elders!! I get tired of seeing these clowns with their pants sagging. I get tired of being in the store hearing these children talk back to their parents. In the midst of laughing at Madea’s lines people miss the message thats in it. The ones with the negative comments are the main ones who children answer them by saying “WHAT”.

    Before anybod judge what Tyler Perry said read threw the lnes first and you will know what he were saying.First of all these so called men walkng around here with here pants hanging down there legs.(you know what I realy wanna say.)You need to act and be strong like Madea dumb ???.not dress like her if you are a man.spike Lee with your no Talent behind please set down stop hating on the man because his moving and plays are the Bomb and your stuff never were. I didn’t watc your movies back in the day because I didn’t like them and if you come out with some more movies I still want go and watch them.your movies are Low Budget and Tyler Perry movies are not. so Stop hating on the man.(Tyler Perry.)I wish Tyler Perry best of Luck and that God keep on Blessing him in what he is during.     It is absolutely “AMAZING” to me the “ignorance” of some humans. It’s said in business that for every one person who complains to management, there are 10 others who feel the same way, but more folks are pleased than displeased. So this means that there are thousands and thousands of folks that ‘LOVE’ TP, his plays and his movies. This guy is actually very brilliant, very savvy and apparantly very strong. He keeps on walking in his purpose regardless of naysayers, that’s strength. Perhaps some of the weak minded who berate him should try finding their purpose because that’s when the world becomes a more tolerable place to live. God blessed TP with a much needed gift and he uses it to fuel the economy with his movie studio in Atlanta, he donates to charities and buys people homes when they’ve lost everything to catastrophe and he gives ‘BIG” to kids year round. His plays and movies have left an indelible memory for millions of people who love and appreciate him. TP is not only making movies and money but his making a difference…question is what difference are you making being negative? What if you were giving it all you got and people found only fault in your best efforts? TP will continue to fly because God is the wind beneath his wings. He knows his purpose and he’s walking in it, God help me to do the same.
