Jeff Conway Overdoses, in Critical Condition

Posted by Adam

JEFF Conway is having a tough time.

The actor — who rose to fame thanks to his roles in Grease and the TV series Taxi – is in critical condition following an apparent overdose.

Sources close to Conway told the Los Angeles Times newspaper that he’s being treated at Encino Hospital Medical Center with pneumonia; he is currently unconscious.

Conway began using drugs in the mid-1980s, and in 2008, he appeared on VH1′s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, where he sought treatment for addictions to cocaine, painkillers and alcohol.

He frequently threatened to quit the show and also refused to end his relationship with his co-dependent girlfriend, Vikki, who also used prescription opiates.

Conway has previously claimed he kicked his drug habit by practicing the controversial religion of Scientology.

“I’ve been doing Scientology…my doctor was like, Holy cow, he says whatever you’ve been doing keep doing it because it’s really working,” he said.

Well this is perfectly understandable, Narconon is just a recruitment tool designed to suck people into Scientology and there’s absolutely no proof it’s effective because Scientology won’t allow it to be tested.

Well, sounds like Scientology Failed him completely, it is nothing but a worthless cult that should be banned completely.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. He needs to go to a real rehab.Nothing against Dr. Drew but if he really cared about his profession he would quit the show and quit using his patients for monetary gain. How many of his celebrity clients that have been on that show have managed to stay clean so far?Jeff needs to leave his girlfriend and leave hollywood. Both of them are no good for him.

Take him out of his pain already He is suffering living on this planet

Conway didn’t have a drug overdose. His past use of drugs has affected his present condition. Conway is suffering from pneumonia and a blood infection. His past use of drugs prevented him from realizing how ill he truly was, until it was almost too late. A source familiar with Conway’s medical condition made this comment.

Jeff Conway was a fine man who suffered and died from the disease of addiction. The doctors who continued to prescribe him the massive amounts of oxycontin, valium, xanax, etc. – in my opinion – should appear before their biard to explain why – in spite of his obvious addiction to them – did they continue to prescribe opiates and benzo’s. I understand chronic pain – it is truly a horro story unto itself. Combined with opiate addiction – he really was suffering beyond anything most of us could ever know. There are other ways to treat pain. F&$*%*&K Scientology. As far as Dr. Drew is concerned – that asshole threw away any credibility he may have had by some of the ridiculously bad decisions he continues to make for the sake of “good tv” rather than what any first year intern can see is best for the patient. There are no guarantees with anything – especially drug/alcohol rehab. Success rates are based on the honesty of those being asked. Honesty is not something most of us practice while in the throws of our addiction. Contrary to what knucklehead Sheen says about AA having a 5%success rate – no one knows. How could they? It’s Alcoholics ANONYMOUS Who did Charlie call? He’s a turd. It is estimated that roughly 15% of Americans have problems with drugs and/or alcohol. Lets be conservative and say 20 million people – combine that with the number of people considered to be obese – now add that to those addicted to gambling, sex/porn and we are talking about a huge number of people fighting some form of addiction or another – possibly 40-50% of our population. How many people are affected directly or indirectly – and how much money is being thrown at this problem? We are a country in sertious trouble, boys and girls. We better quit looking the other way and address this issue right now – and realize there is no easy answer or quick solution. Jeff Conway was one of millions addicted to prescription pain medications. A garden variety drug addict who died from drug addiction. It did not have to happen – but he is ultimately responsible.
