Johnny Depp to Snub Oscars?

JOHNNY Depp is planning to snub this year’s Oscars over rumors of his relationship problems.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is expected to present an award at next month’s ceremony but feels his appearance will only put his personal life with partner Vanessa Paradis under more scrutiny.

“Johnny feels he can’t win,” says a source close to the actor.

“If he turns up with Vanessa it just looks like they are trying to make a point of being seen together while if Johnny goes on his own it furthers the rumors.

“Johnny is now unlikely to go to the Oscars at all.”

Reports earlier this month claimed Depp and Paradis have been arguing constantly.

Depp, sources said, is struggling to deal with the couple’s crucial problems.

“Johnny isn’t handling anything well right now,” a source said.

“People around him are worried about how Johnny is doing because he and Vanessa seem so fractured right now. Their relationship is heading toward the end.”

“Johnny has started reaching out to lawyers, probably to quietly discuss how to get out of the relationship. They’re not married but they’ve been together for years and have kids together so it isn’t as easy as just breaking up.

“Johnny is so talented at acting, but he doesn’t seem able to hide how badly things are going right now.”

It’s also been claimed that Depp’s The Tourist costar, Angelina Jolie, has urged him to fix the relationship.

“They stayed in touch after The Tourist,” a source said.

“When she heard what was going on she reached out to him to see how he was coping and urged him to work it out.”

    Leave these two alone aready.  Vanessa has said the rumors are false.  Let’s leave it at that.  Johnny doesn’t like the red carpet or big media events and he doesn’t have to go if he doesn’t want to.

    The writing staff should all be fired for their lack of research and shabby journalism.  Any devoted Johnny Depp fan knows exactly the reasons why Johnny would not go to any award program. He’s just not interested in them. Unless he’s under contract or agrees to present, he has no reason to attend.
    Next month he’ll be on location filming The Lone Ranger and this nonsense you people spew about him, dodging public appearances because of the rumors, is crap. Vanessa already made a statement recently while working in Paris that the rumors are false.  Johnny and Vanessa have always been a private couple, protecting their children and family the best they know how. It’s stupid statements like what you and other rag tabloids print is the reason that they choose to avoid the Hollywood limelight.  Their private life is no body’s business.  The media is so desperate for any news about high profile celebrities that they just invent or twist a concept and copy each others reports, practically verbatim, and pass it along as truth without doing any of their own work to verify the report.  Who the heck lets you get away with that kind of laziness and lack of responsibility?  It’s a shame, too, that the public even chooses to believe this garbage so that is why we need to do your work for you and post the truth.
    Leave the Depp family alone and go educate yourselves before you carbon copy the next stupid celebrity news item. And you and all the other tabloids owe Johnny and Vanessa an apology.  Do you think you could manage that?  
    Probably not because you don’t care about anything that illustrates any kind of integrity.

    He’s “expected to present an award” is he? Then he should be the professional actor he IS and present the award if he has told them he will. Vanessa has CONFIRMED you both are still together, don’t use that as an excuse. He only goes to these things if he is nominated or presenting an award. But watch when ‘Dark Shadows’ is set to be released later this year, he will be at every envelope opening worldwide (with or without Vanessa)  Yet he doesn’t want to attend the biggest award show and pay respects to the film industry that pays him millions, or admire other actors work in films and their success like he has enjoyed from his peers for years. There’s a big difference between being a private person and being a diva. And as we all know you only travel in private jets, so you can smoke and not have to be looked at, at airports….a jet can fly you in for the Oscars from the Lone Ranger set in Mexico and fly you back again in less than 24 hours. Get over yourself stop moaning and present the award.

    And who says he is “expected”? You?????  I don’t recall seeing anything announced that he will be a presenter.  Johnny will be working.  His work is more important than presenting an award.  If you look at past history he doesn’t attend these kind of events unless he has to.  Going out and promoting his movie is something he has to do.  Leaving his work to present an award is a waste of time.

    Look above it says he “is expected to present an award”. He presented at the Golden Globes a few weeks ago. The Oscar’s are the most important awards of the year, I doubt the Academy see them as “a waste of time”. He knows his absence will attract more speculation about himself than if he did go. The same as his silence for weeks over reports of his private life. He could have put a stop to that sooner. He could have protected and defended his family with a quick simple denial statement. But they didn’t. And they stayed silent while Vanessa was alone in Paris preparing for her solo public appearances. Only AFTER the premiere for her new film, she confirmed the rumours of a split were not true. Had they denied it sooner, I doubt her new film she is promoting would have got as much attension, or publicity. Johnny got anything to promote right now? NO. Not since the ‘Rum Diary’ flopped with critics and bombed at the box office. That’s why he isn’t going to the Oscar’s.

      Johnny isn’t going to give these magazines any fuel for their fire. Vanessa was most likely going to be asked anyway during interviews for her new movie so they may have thought to have a little fun with the meida in the meantime. Johnny has said many times he doesn’t care if his movies make money. He gets paid either way. The Rum Diary was a tribute to his good friend Hunter S. Thompson and he promised Hunter he would do the film. It took a long time to get it done and was his passion project for Hunter. That’s all he really cared about was getting it done and out there for Hunter to tell his story. From what Johnny has said he really is pretty shy and doesn’t like all the media attention, even though he knows it comes with check but he would rather not do it if he doesn’t have to.

        Actually…Vanessa has clearly said in the “denial” interview, that those gossip magazines/reports end up either in their toilet OR on the fire…she burns the gossip mags on their fire, SO as she has admitted…’Johnny does! these magazines fuel for fire’. What are they doing with trash mags like that in the Depp house? in the first place? Johnny Depp has crashed and burned this year as far as movies go. He is listed as one of the Producers of ‘Hugo’ but he still will snub the Oscars. His ‘shy professional’ act is very boring now. Don’t do the films, acting OR producing if you can’t follow through Johnny!

    Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.  I love Johnny and Vanessa together and I wish them well.  I think Vanessa is a beautiful person and just what Johnny needed 13 years ago and still needs.  Life is short, cherish what you have and hold on to it.

Johnny does not go to award shows unless he feels it is necessary…  why would he be a presenter usually last years winners present.  I would love to see them there but they will do what they do and it is none of our business.

As a movie goer and fan, who has paid good money to see his films at the cinema for over 10 years, and buys his films on dvd….I’d actually like! to see him turn up and acknowledge these award ceremonies that he has either been nominated for or won. But you know what? Let him stew at home instead, tortured whether to go or not…..anymore of this bloody fiasco behaviour and PR publicity crap he brings upon himself, and nobody will care where he is. Replace him as a presenter at the Oscar’s with Kermit the Frog.

      He does show up when he’s nominated for something; Oscars, Golden Globes, SAG, People’s Choice, MTV, Kids Choice, BAFTA’s, Teen Choice, Nickelodeon, he’s been to all of them several times over the last 10 years, most more than once. Where have you been?

    I want to be convinced that their is harmony in the Depp Family and I think that the awards of any kind are not as important as family happiness piece of mind and above all. How can one have a great direction in life if they deny the most important options first. Depp be with your best love of your life and your children. I look at the facts you are a great actor allready and look at Anthony Hopkins he is old his acting is brillient and he still make a great deal of money. Money is not everything. When you are old and grey its family securities that you need and its the knowing that proving yourself is not what is important you have already accomplished this. Its the other most important things that you need to achieve. Those who really love and respect you and love you wont want your money they want your time. The best love and support you can give its your turn and you will feel better. DONT GIVE UP ON VENESSA PARADIS SHE IS THE BEST PERSON FOR YOU SHE HAS ACCOMPLISHED THINGS AND FAILED JUST LIKE YOU. GIVE HER ANOTHER BABY OR BABIES, LET HER FEEL THAT SHE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE WORLD. IF she doesnt feel the same way about you then she is lying because she wants you to be happy and successful, however there are best ways and wrong ways to go about it so be right do the right things. Contracts can always be broken mistakes with your future happiness can not be fixed, life is far too short.

    I hate to say it to you all, but even with you all saying…  oh this isn’t true, or his friends wouldn’t do that…  I’d like to point out two things.  

    1)  History tells us that usually when press get hold of relationship problems with anyone famous, it usually if not always turns out to be true at some point, Even if that person or persons, put on a show of unity to prove the press wrong.  Sorry…  but that IS the reality of it.

    2)  And two, it doesn’t say friends..  it says a source close to Johnny Depp.  Use a little common sense here!  Who do YOU think that source would be?  Doesn’t take a scientist to work out.  It’s those that have his name signed on the dotted line.  They don’t care about him or his personal life, the ONLY thing they care about is publicity and how it’s going to affect or not affect them.  And as they say… all publicity is good publicity when you’re in the money making business.

    So yes, it’s really sad and I truly feel for him, I do.  I like Johnny Depp, BUT he isn’t the first and he wont be the last.  And thousands of people brake up daily.  Most without the luxury of money to be able to just start again.

      PS the thing that really makes me laugh though, is how after reading some of the comments here, all of you are condemning this and other articles stating..  ”You know this for a fact?  You don’t know anything!”  When the truth is, you guys know absolutely nothing either!  You’re just so determined to believe what you want to believe.  Which is nice, it’s loyalty, I understand that.  But…  I’d also like to point out if we didn’t have the press, would you be googling for information as you undoubtedly did to land on this page?  Just as I did.  So before you condemn them, the journo’s that is, just remember if you all didn’t want to know about the rich and famous and their lives, they wouldn’t be printing it!!!  Supply and Demand you know!

      And before any of you start a titrate of abuse towards me for having a view that differs from your own.  I’d like to point out AGAIN..  I like Johnny Depp I really do, and I’d like to think also that he’s happy and his relationship is strong as ever.  But at the end of the day, life is just that…  life.  Things happen to us that we don’t want to happen.  And usually they happen veryyyyy slowly, over time.  And by the time we do realise, it’s usually to late to fix it.
