Robert Pattinson Too Scared to Sing!

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

ROBERT Pattinson has laid his rock star ambitions to rest through his fear of having his musical offerings savaged by critics.

The 25-year-old star says he is to concentrate on acting despite his lifelong dream of making it as a recording artist.

“With movies, I can handle the criticism because you can always blame it on someone else,” explains Rob.

“But with music, as soon as you put something out there everyone judges it. If you’re an actor and you’ve made some money and stuff, you’re basically only putting an album out for people to judge it.

“I don’t necessarily want people to judge it or care. The day it comes out I know I’m going to be on the internet looking at stuff and I’ll probably shoot myself. So I don’t know if it’s worth shooting myself over.”

Being able to have this opportunity with SNL and the film, I’m going to do what I’m supposed to do

Well, Robert Pattinson is letting what other people think about him stop him from being all that he can be… But I guess for a star, it’s not only what other people think but also what they say. Now people can control other people by critizing their talents, this is a very sad problem that we have here in a free society with free speech. Now I know  why my mother always told me that if you can’t  say something nice, then don’t say anything at all. It was not just for me, it was for everyone I would ever know, or know about.   If only Rob knew just how talented he really is, and how beautiful he really is, His voice can make you cry… Well, if only he knew…

Totally disagree.  There have always been critics.  His choices are just that his choices and no one can be blamed.  All artists put themselves out there, in fact, we all do.

Plays keys, lead, and sings very well.
a mental block in the mind,is simply a very high baracade  concrete wall. How do you go thru it, and move on with your ambitions?
3 ways:   #1. You can sneak around it.  #2. you can try to scale over it.  #3. Or,you can go busting right thru the fucking thing……..
                                                    “GO FOR IT ROBERT!!!”

I love Rob’s voice and the way he plays the guitar and piano, he is so gifted. Hugh Jackman said Rob had a great voice. His music is inspirational. Maybe one day he’ll feel differently, and as a fan I hope so, but I can understand his feelings. He plays music for the love of it, doesn’t need the money, doesn’t care about what others think in that he is not striving to bask in the glory of being a musician. So why should he stress for recognition, to have some idiot criticize what is so personal to him? He’s put himself out there enough lately, and this he wants to keep to himself. But, selfishly, I hope he changes his mind . . .

maybe he isn’t all he can be. if one has a passion for the arts, the muses do not let the artist alone until he does something about it. he needs to suck it up and put an album out. but then maybe he lied about how long he’s been playing the piano and the guitar. now that he has his money  he’s done. it was only when he didn’t have anything that he was willing to risk it all. he should remember one series does not an actor make.

hard times make for tremendous creativity. good times leads to complacentcey.

    • Michele

That’s not necessarily true. The ‘muse’ doesn’t always come, creating are can be work too, be it painting or writing, or music. Anything can be work no matter how talented you are or how much you love it, the process of creating doesn’t always just flow from your fingertips. Rob doesn’t “need” to do anything, and if he lied about how long he’s been playing, as you have suggested, then he must be some kind of a prodigy, considering how good he is. I give him credit for not being bullied into doing anything he doesn’t want to do. It shows strength of character.

      • haha

Wait, you give him credit for not being bullied, yet the article says he won’t sing because of critics?
All work is difficult, that is why it is called work.

I have heard him sing and he is dame good. I am sad to hear he will not be making a record because i would buy it. It is too bad he lets what other people think rule the way he lives his life. If I like what I see when I look in the mirror and I like what i am doing then the hell with what other people think as long as I’m happy with myself and what i do. I know there are people out there that would by his music. Besides if I remember correctly the credits did not like him at all  when they first sew him in twilight. Look where he is today one of the most popular actors alive. So it does not matter what other people think as long as you do what makes you happy and if singing makes him happy then he should do it.

I would but one in a heartbeat too!

Robert does have a soulful voice and plays beautifully. I do think he will sing when he is good and ready as he says he has to ffeel comfortable with his voice and playing because that comes from his soul…His acting is as he said it is how they want him to portray the part. I hope we are blessed with is singing and playing talent soon. :)

Heard him sing the other day, real good!
