ARETHA Franklin has declared war on Kathie Lee Gifford!

The singer was left furious when Gifford said that the Queen of Soul is too old to be an American Idol judge.

Kathie Lee made her comments on July 16 after Aretha had hinted to the press she’d like the job.

“There are a lot of kids out there who actually don’t know who Aretha Franklin is. It is sad, but they don’t,” she said.

“Aretha started singing and re­cording when she was only 14 years old and she is still going strong at 70,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“So who better to sit in judgment of those kids on American Idol?

“Not only can she tell them if they can sing, but she can also tell them how to make their careers last. She’s demanding Kathie Lee keep her mouth shut about what she’s capable of doing.

“She says she’s been on tour for decades and can get anywhere she needs to be for the show.”

    kathy Lee proved she doesn’t know crap about talents and doesn’t have no manners/respects for someone like Aretha Franklin who’s been around singing since the early 1960′s. Aretha would have been a great as a judge because this is a woman who sing, write song, write music and played piano.
