JAMES Bond is getting his own Sky Movie channel — Sky Movies 007
Launching in October in both standard and high definition, the move comes after Sky secured rights to all 22 original Bond films, as well as the two independent titles, Never Say Never Again and Casino Royale, in April.
The channel, which will broadcast 24 hours a day from October 5 until November 4, will also show a number of Bond-related programs.
This sees an end to ITV’s 38-year hold on the Bond franchise, which it has enjoyed since 1974.
All content will also be available to viewers without commercial breaks on-demand through Sky Anytime+ and Sky Go, the broadcaster’s internet service.
“The Bond movies are a very special franchise and we want to ensure that our customers will be able to experience it in a way they’ve never been able to before,” said director of Sky Movies, Ian Lewis.
“We’re delighted that our customers will have the best Bond movie-watching experience ever with Sky Movies – uninterrupted, in HD, on demand and on the go.”
