VICTORIA Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Melanie Brown are gearing up to add a little bit of Spice to the Olympics.
The five-some — who make up the Spice Girls — will perform Sunday at the London 2012 Closing Ceremony.
“If the opening ceremony was the wedding, then we’re the wedding reception,” music director David Arnold tells the Daily Telegraph.
Also expected to perform in the show, which will include British hits from the past five decades: The Who, George Michael, Muse, the Pet Shop Boys and Annie Lennox.
The Spice Girls were spotted rehearsing atop black cabs in London on Thursday.
Earlier this year, Chisholm (aka “Sporty”) made it clear to Olympic organizers that she really, really, really wanted the group to be included.
“I’d be really upset if the Spice Girls weren’t included in the Olympics, whether it be the opening or closing ceremonies or any other playlists, because I think we absolutely represented Britain in the ‘90s,” she said.
“I think it would be a real shame if we weren’t acknowledged in some way at the Olympics.”[imagebrowser id=265]
