Kate Middleton: Lavender Shortbread Cravings!

Sunday, December 30, 2012

PREGNANT Kate Middleton has been craving lavender shortbread.

The British beauty — who has been suffering from acute morning sickness throughout her pregnancy, which was announced earlier this month — has been overloaded with boxes of the calorific treats, which are a traditional anti-sickness cure.

“A lot of women develop cravings during pregnancy and Kate is no exception. She has got a real taste for these biscuits,” a source said.

“Lavender is said to have healing properties, so it is not such a wacky food to nibble on when you’re pregnant.”

The royal family have been sending Catherine – who was known as Kate Middleton prior to her and Prince William’s nuptials last year — boxes of the sugary snacks, which are sold by her father-in-law Prince Charles‘ Duchy Originals organic food brand and London-based department store Fortnum & Mason.

As previously reported on ShowbizSpy, the sexy lady has been chowing down scones with jam and clotted cream!

“Kate has been craving scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream,” said a source.

“She can’t get enough of it. And she washes it down with a cup of old-fashioned English-breakfast tea.

“Some women eat raw onions when they’re pregnant, but Kate’s joked that she’s keeping it classy. It’s just a shame she can’t keep her food down for long!” [imagebrowser id=1187]

Poor Kate. Her pregnancy was always going to be the subject of intense focus, but now she’s developed terrible morning sickness. It must be awful having to attend public occasions feeling sick, and having to put on a brave face.

However, I was very happy to hear that the Duchess of Cambridge has discovered the wonderful effects of lavender for treating nausea.

Nausea is a pretty miserable condition. The name actually comes from the Latin nausia, meaning ship. It can be caused by a variety of things: motion, pregnancy, stomach flu, inner ear disorders, emotional stress, chemotherapy and intestinal problems.

There doesn’t seem to be a cure for it, but the good news is that lavender can help alleviate waves of nausea.

The Duchess of Cambridge is an international style icon, and presumably is now an icon for many mothers and mothers to be. It’s been revealed that the Duchess has been eating lavender biscuits to help relieve her morning sickness. And very wise she is to do so.

Lavender is perfect for pregnant women suffering from morning sickness, as the smell can help alleviate the condition.

Keeping a lavender bag nearby is a good way of dealing with morning sickness on the go. A few drops of lavender oil in a bath, if you have more time, will not only relax, but will also help reduce nausea.

And lavender honey is great for energy when you are on the go.

If Kate’s doing it, you can bet this is the latest pregnancy trend.

Say goodbye to horrible nausea with lavender.
