Earlier on in the week, I reported that Hugh Grant had lobbed a tub of baked beans at a photographer; and now he’s been arrested over the allegations that he assaulted a photographer near his west London home.

This follows reports that he lashed out at a paparazzo with a tub of baked beans.

Photographer Ian Whittaker told a tabloid that Hugh had abused and kicked him before picking up a tub of beans and throwing them. The newspaper published photographs apparently showing the alleged incident.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: “A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault on a 43-year-old man in SW10 on April 24.

“He has been bailed to return to a police station on a date in May.” Whittaker was in the area to get pictures of Liz Hurley, Hugh’s former partner, who lives nearby.
