Rockers Linkin Park have scored this year’s biggest album debut after their latest album “Minutes to Midnight” went straight to the top of the U.S. after shifting 623,000 copies.
The album is the biggest debut since the group’s on-off collaborator Jay-Z scored big with his comeback album “Kingdom Come” last December.
R&B star Tank is a distant number two on the new chart, selling just 103,000 units of his new album Sex, Love & Pain.
Last week’s chart-topper, crooner Michael Buble, slips to number three with Call Me Irresponsible, while cult rockers Wilco score their best sales week ever, taking Sky Blue Sky to number four with opening week sales of 87,000 copies.
Country singer Gretchen Wilson rounds out the new top five with her new album One of the Boys – her third successive top five hit.
Meanwhile, heavy metal supergroup Megadeth have scored their first top 10 album in 13 years with United Abominations debuting at eight.
