Nicole Richie on her way to court
Pregnant Socialite Nicole Richie has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence of drugs at a court in Glendale Caifornia, but has been sent to jail for at least 4 days.

The judge on her case said that the troubled socialite was was lucky that nobody had been killed when she drove up the wrong way on the motorway.

Ms Richie, who is rumored to be pregnant with boyfriend Joel Madden’s baby has also been given three years probation but has credit for time already served. Richie’s reality TV co-star Paris Hilton has already served time in jail for 23 days for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving offense.

    4 days is pitiful.

Just because a person is not a rapist, doesn’t mean they shouldnt have to answer for their crimes.

The fact is, Nicole took drugs and drove the wrong way up a highway. She could have caused death and is only getting four days even though it was her second offense? If it was joe-snoe, he’d be in there 90 days and lose his license.

Hate to break it to you, Paris didn’t create this. People have been put in jail for driving related crimes for ages. Celebs just get special treatment.

Endangering lives is endangering lives is endangering lives. There need to be consequences for a person’s actions.

The people who advocted Paris Hilton jail sentence may not have realized the disadvantages on society this created.
Now, it is considered “normal” to spend time in jail for driving related violations. Driving related crimes are not the same types of crimes as the average prisoner. Most prisoners have been accused of rape, murder, etc. Now we have created a police-monster by agreeing that we should be punished in this way for a crime that is simply not the equivalent as the other prison-sentenced crimes.
