50 Cent Postpones Tour

50 Cent and Kanye West

Badboy rapper, 50 Cent, has, according to reports postponed his European tour, which has fueled speculation that 50, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson has retired from making music.

50 Cent reportedly said that he’d retire if rival rapper, Kanye West sold more records than him, and he did – yesterday, Kanye’s album ‘Graduation’ went straight into number in the UK charts, leaving 50’s album, Curtis in the number 2 Spot.

It has been predicted that Kanye West’s ‘Curtis’ will sell around 700,000 copies in the US alone.

However, 50 Cent’s rep has refused to comment on his retirement plans, She said that “unforeseen circumstances” had led to the temporary postponement of his tour.

BBC News is also reporting that 50 Cent was also due to perform at this week’s Mobo Awards and Vodafone Live Music Awards in London, as well as an MTV show in Germany on Friday. Those appearances have also been canned.

Last month, 50 said: “If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer write music,” he said.

“I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums.”
