Meat Loaf cancels Manchester concert due to illness

Singer Meat Loaf, who recently caused controversy for banning photographers on his UK tour, has disappointed his fans yet again – by canceling his Sunday evening concert at Manchester’s MEN arena – on doctor’s orders due to acute laryngitis.
According to London’s Metro newspaper, the ‘Bat out of hell’ singer’s show in Birmingham on Friday was also postponed but his advisers were hoping the Manchester date would go ahead as arranged.
60-year-old Meat Loaf, real name Michael Lee Aday – said: “Performing for my fans is the most important thing in the world to me. Over the years, I’ve gone on stage with a broken foot and an arrhythmic heart.
“It was devastating having to come off stage in Newcastle but over time I’ve reluctantly learned that I have to abide by what the doctors tell me to do.”
Tickets for Meat Loaf’s Manchester show will now be valid for the rescheduled gig on Tuesday November 27.
