Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse has finally been granted a visa to allow her to work in America.
According to reports, Winehouse, 24, who scooped the Artists Choice gong at the European Music Awards in Munich, Germany last week, was refused entry to the States, following her drugs arrest in Norway in October.
According to Britain’s Mirror newspaper, after Winehouse had a formal interview with US authorities – she’ll be off to start work on her third album.
However, the ‘Rehab’ singer will be flying back to support husband Blake who appears in court on an assault charge on Monday.
Last week, it was revealed that Amy was going to appeal the drugs charges she received in Norway – after claiming she didn’t understand that accepting a fine in Norway is the same as pleading guilty – which “could affect her ability to work in the U.S.” – At the time, Amy’s lawyer, Oleg Kvelstad said: “This is an appeal of errors police made in the case, if Amy is allowed to withdraw her acceptance of the fine, her case would likely go to trial.”
