Nicole Kidman says she only allows husband Keith Urban to talk about his addictions because they hope it will help heal other addicts.

Kidman is normally passionate about her privacy – but has unusually supported husband Keith in talking about seeking held from rehab.

They have both admitted his woes put their marriage under stress. But they believe their public words may help support other families going through the same type of crisis.
“Obviously, when your life has been scrutinized and written about, and people are aware of the most private parts of your life, it’s awkward to sit on TV and talk about that,” Kidman said on U.S. TV.

“But at the same time, there’s a lot of people that are struggling right now with addiction and with a lot of problems.

“And so part of what he’s done is talked about some of our very, very private moments in an effort to reach out to people and show that you can do the work and you can actually walk through it together. And

I think never becoming arrogant in your love and staying humble, knowing that it’s something that you’ve really got to cherish.”

Country singer Urban entered rehab in October 2006, just four months into his marriage to the Oscar-winning actress.

After finishing his 90-days, he has spoken often of the experience – and how Nicole and his love for her was the only thin that pulled him through.

On a lighter note, Nicole laughed about her daughter Isabella, 14, dyed her hair bright blue.

“I didn’t go with her – I left her for a moment at the hairdresser, and came back and it was blue,” Kidman laughed.

“I’ve always kind of had a willful streak myself, so I actually like to have a daughter that’s got some willfulness.”
