It does not matter if she is a lesbian in real life. At least, she is honest about that part of her self. It is her sexuality and she owns it. And like everyone else, she deserves to be respected. Not everyone may really understand human sexuality. Ellen & Portia is a decent couple. It just happened that they are same-sex couple but all the basis of what a relationship should be is embodied in theirs. Like some heterosexual relationships, their relationship is built upon love and not lust. Love knows no boundaries –gender, race, status, beliefs. It encompasses all.
