Pageant organizers launch probe into pepper-spray sabotage of Miss Puerto Rico

Pageant organizers have launched a probe into the alleged pepper-spray sabotage of Miss Puerto Rico.

Bosses believe that an inside job saw pepper spray put into the gown and make-up of eventual winner Ingrid Marie Rivera.

The stunning 24-year-old had to be packed in ice as her face and skin began to swell. Rivera will now represent the Caribbean island in the Miss Universe competition.

“I am going to investigate this until the final consequences,” director Magali Febles said. “When we have everything, I will announce who the person is because someone with these instincts is capable of anything.”

Pageant experts believe that it could have been sabotage because Rivera, who won Miss Caribbean 2005, was a controversial contestant.

In addition to the pepper spray allegations, Rivera’s handbag and credit cards were stolen and a bomb threat was called in.
