Singer Dannii Minogue has spoken out about her relationship with fellow ‘X Factor’ judge Simon Cowell – and admits she has formed a “special relationship” with the millionaire music mogul.
Dannii, who last night accepted that her blossoming friendship with 48-year-old Simon has caused friction amongst the show’s other judges, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne – laughed off claims she is more than just good friends with Cowell.
Rumors were raging after Dannii and Simon were seen leaving BBC Television Centre after Children In Need. Kylie’s sister told Britain’s Mirror newspaper: “It looks like we’re holding hands.
“But if you look at the picture you can see I’m laughing – and it’s at that point I realised from the angle of the camera that it looked a lot different from what it was.”
She joked: “I think it’s just the easiest conclusion to jump to.”
36-year-old Dannii then went on to say she has listened to Simon’s advice & respects his opinion. She added: “At the beginning of the series I had to call him sometimes and say, ‘I was thinking of doing this…’ We agree on a lot of stuff and you can see mostly that the panel is split with Sharon and Louis, and myself and Simon because I am not scared to say what I think.
“We do get on easily and he has had to guide me through things.”
Dannii, who claims she is already dating someone at the moment, has been on the receiving end of many spiteful attacks from Louis and Sharon, both on screen & off – some of which have left her in tears.
She added: “It is hard to be on the receiving end of some of that stuff. Because I don’t know the three judges as well as they know each other it can be more upsetting.
“When I am on set I still feel a bit of an outsider.
“But if I have the winner this year, I can come in next year and say ‘Right!’ – and be different.”
