Sting shows off his erotic lovenest

StingSinger Sting has offered a sneak peek inside his bedroom.

The rocker shares the erotic lovenest with wife Trudie Styler.

Raunchy black-and-white Helmut Newton prints – featuring semi-clad women posing on leather chairs – hang on the walls.

And the red and gold décor, and large mirrors look straight out of the Moulin Rouge.

Wife Trudie said of it: “I find it hot.”

She said her 10-year-old son once wanted to know if the photo of the almost nude, sprawled-out woman was his mother or sister. She told him it was neither.

The room is the centerpiece of the couple’s sprawling 18-room duplex in Manhattan, New York apartment overlooking Central Park.

They put the Central Park West pad, which has five bedrooms, on the market for $24 million USD last year [2006] – but have now taken it off, despite buying another $30 million USD dream high-rise flat at a separate development.

They’ve lived in the former home for 20 years. Neighbours include film star Robert De Niro.

Sting – whose love for kinky Tantric sex is well-documented – was snapped sitting in a car outside an upmarket German brothel in September.

He has said: “I think eroticism is incredibly important, at least as important as art and politics, and we make a huge mistake and pay a terrible price if we try to suppress it. “You can’t do that. The unconscious always wins.”

Sting, real name Gordon Sumner, told a New York newspaper in November 2006: “I’m not sure I’m ready to sell. “I’ve had a lot of inspiration here.”

Speaking from his second-floor study, he revealed: “I love being near the street.

“I like being able to shout at people on the street, and being so close to the trees and feeling the rumble of the subway. We’ve had a lot of fun here.”

Wife Trudie said in the same interview: “Sting and I had the same realization – wouldn’t it be nice to have a skyline [view].

“We love this area and it was perfect when our kids were younger, but our stroller days are over. We are sad and excited to leave.”

Sting, 56, and Styler, 53, also own homes in Italy and the UK. Styler has described their duplex as “classic Beaux Arts”.

She said: “We’ve put our own stamp on this 1920s building.”
