Chris Tarrant on beach holiday with new girlfriend

There’s nothing like a new lover to make an aging multi-millionaire stop counting the pennies.
Chris Tarrant, 61, has been snapped gleaming on a beach holiday in Barbados with 44-year-old girlfriend Jane Bird.
But while ex-wife Ingrid, 52, may be able to swallow the smiles, there is something else that will be a whole lot harder to forgive.
The Norwegian-born blonde had to make do with a hotel described by guests as ‘great value’ in their 2004 holiday to the island. But it would seem Tarrant, who made his fortune on radio and TV presenting, didn’t hesitate in treating his new lover to a no-expenses-spared break at one of the Caribbean’s top hotels.
While the modest Sandbridge Beach Hotel was enough for his wife, Jane is enjoying the luxurious surroundings of Barbados’ Cobblers Cove,where rooms can cost almost 10 times as much.
A honeymoon favourite, the Cove is a charming resort hotel built in an English country house style, set amid lush tropical gardens on the island’s stunning west coast.
Their top rooms, at over £1,000 a night, are considered among the most exclusive in Barbados, with their own pool and panoramic views of the beach and gardens.
It is perfect for a blossoming romance – and as the photographs show,they certainly thought it was picture perfect.
The couple were also pictured at Barbados’ airport on their way out, and looked like they had a great break.
“They definitely had the look of a couple in love,” said one onlooker.
“They couldn’t stop smiling and were very attentive with each other.
Whatever he spent on this holiday, it looks like it was worthwhile.”
The Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? presenter and Jane, a solicitor, are thought to have been dating for around five months and were seen together in the Italian island of Capri earlier this year.
The contrast of their latest holiday with the three-star all-inclusive hotel Ingrid and Tarrant spent their break could not be more apparent.
The couple split in 2006 after 15 years of marriage when it emerged Tarrant had been having a long-running affair. At the time he said he “adored” his wife and only had himself to blame.
TV presenter Ingrid had famously given an interview where she said she would forgive him if he had an affair.
Maybe if Tarrant hadn’t been so stingy he would have stood a chance.
