Hilary Swank was almost killed on the set of her latest movie, it has been revealed.
Swank was shooting a striptease scene for P.S. I Love You, when her co-star Gerard Butler’s braces nearly caused a fatal accident.
Gerard – who plays Hilary’s dying husband in the film – told Glamour magazine: “Hilary was fantastic, she has no ego and is really down to earth, so accomplished and talented. But I did try to kill her!
“It was with my braces. I cleverly managed to get the clip stuck behind me on this cupboard, the elastic was at full stretch, and I didn’t realise. It unclipped itself smacked her forehead and she went down like she’d been shot.
“Two inches more and it could have taken her eye out, really, the thing was so sharp.”
‘P.S. I Love You’ is a big screen adaptation of the best-selling book, which was written by Bertie Ahern’s daughter, Cecelia.
It tells the story of Holly Kennedy, played by Hilary, and her personal struggle to cope with the death of husband.
