Jackass gang to release a third film

The Jackass gang is releasing a third feature film ‘Jackass 2.5′  for free over the internet.

All the stars of the first two movies – Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Chris Pontius, Steve-O and Jason “Wee Man” Acu’a – have filmed stunts for the 64-minute film that will be released on December 19.

A trailer on the website promises: “Jackass 2.5 is every bit as unbelievable as the preceding movies, combining stunts, pranks and all new lows.”

The film will first be offered online for free over a two-week period beginning December 19th courtesy of video rental company Blockbuster on the website blockbuster.jackassworld.com.

After the free period it will be made available for download on iTunes and purchase on DVD. “We are very excited to be able to deliver Jackass 2.5, the first feature-length movie from a major studio which will debut free on the internet,” said Thomas Lesinski, president of  Paramount Pictures digital entertainment.

“We’re trying to shake up the model and prove that distribution can be successful on the Internet.”
