Sports heroes Greg Norman and Chris Evert are engaged, they revealed to the press at a golf tournament in South Africa on Friday.

According to US reports, the couple got engaged last Sunday while their were making their way to South Africa, 52-year-old Evert told reporters while he was announcing the plans for a new tennis center she is building.

Asked about wedding plans, Chris gushed “Well, it is an engagement ring. … We don’t know when and where we’ll be married though.”

Norman, 52, declined to add anything extra, leading Evert to joke, “Why don’t you say something to them? Gee, you’re a big chicken!”

Evert, a former tennis champion, and Norman, a top pro golfer, both split from their former partners in the past year, says Us weekly –  Evert from her husband of 18 years, skiing champ Andy Mill, and Norman from his wife of 25 years, Laura.
