Jamie Lynn SpearsTHE 16-year-old sister of Britney Spears is pregnant, it was reported last night.

Budding actress Jamie Lynn Spears was “shocked and scared, but keeping her baby”, according to OK! Magazine.

The father of the baby is said to be her long-term boyfriend Casey Aldridge, 18, who she is believed to have first met at church.

Jamie Lynn had not yet broken the news to her big sister, a source told TMZ.com. The teenager is the star of top-rated Nickolodeon TV show Zoey 101.

Nickolodeon issued a statement saying: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation.  “We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

There were reports earlier this year that Jamie Lynn had had a pregnancy scare. She was said to have confided her fears she was pregnant to big sister Britney after missing her period. But a home pregnancy test proved it was a false alarm, The National Inquirer reported.

    I think that its right for Jamie Lynn to keep the baby beacause i’m 15 and my boyfriend whos 19 got me pregnant back in like august and i’ve been with my boyfriend for a year now.My parents made me have an abortion and me and my bf didn’t want to.But i had to. Right now i wish i kept the baby. I was 2 months pregnant when i had to get the abortion after it happened I started crying. I hated to that. I still do. Yeah people may say i’m only 15 i cant be a mother. But i dont care anymore. Because I know as soon as i turn 18. me and my boyfriend are gonna get married and have a kid. I’ll be 18 and he’ll be 22.

    First of all let me say this to you getting pregnant at 15 wasn’t all your boyfriends fault. It takes two to tango. 2nd, you did not have to get an abortion. It is a choice regardless of how old you are! 3rd life is hard enough without kids and I have two kids and it totally changes your life. I work full time, I’m a full time mother, and I’m a full time wife. Life doesn’t get easier when you run off with your “boyfriend” get married and have children. If anything it gets harder! Enjoy your Mortgage free, Kid free, Husband free life for the time being! Life truely does go by fast! Don’t grow up so fast!

    OMG i was well shocked when i saw this i still felt really happy for her though it was her choice so i don’t see why everyone can’t just leave her alone!?! And they shoudn’t cancel Zoey 101 its an amazing programme and just because she has a sister who couldn’t handle doesnt mean that she is going to be the same!!! she give the poor girl a break!!!!! good luck Jamie

    I don’t think it’s reasonable to cancel zoey 101. it’s not like the rest of season 4 was filmed while jamie was pregnant. plus, would you people just give her a break? everyone is now relating her big pregnancy blow-up to her sister, and it is probably not easy for anyone in that family. They are just people. Yes, they are heck famous, but it’s not like they differ from us all that much. i bet that there are so many more people in the world that became pregnant at a young age, and i dont see every incident on the front of magazines and newspapers! it’s just her fate, because she’s freakin famous. you expect too much from her. she’s probably under pressure from seeing people publish all of her secrets from every corner she turns, and all these people talking crap about her and her sister. Everyone knows that the Spears family has screwed up big-time, many times. But haven’t we screwed up before? The only reason that people aren’t writing about our screw-ups is because 1. we’re not famous. 2. nobody knows 3. nobody cares. so i know that the big cancellation is also concerning the young kids watching. well they dont have to watch it if they don’t want to. but just think, how would u feel if you were in her position??
