Actor Orlando Bloom has angered his neighbors by painting his $2.7 million mansion black.
Most of the residents in Outpost Drive Los Angeles – including screen babes Charlize Theron and Scarlett Johansson paint their homes white to reflect the sun.
But, they the reckon ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ actor Orlando, 30, must still be suffering from the Curse of the Black Pearl.
A neighbor told British newspaper The Sun: “Charlize and Scarlett were a bit taken aback.
“Most go for white, but Orlando went completely the other way.
“It’s a bit weird, but that’s Orlando – he’s an original guy. Maybe he’s been listening to Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones.”

I don’t know why anyone cares that he painted his house black. That’s his buisness and they should respect what he does. I mean it’s not their house, so why do they care.

Actually, Orlando may be greener than his neighbors: by painting his house black in winter – it will absorb more more sunlight and heat the house more than a white house.
By saving on his heating bill, he is reducing his carbon footprint.
…of course, he’ll have to repaint it white in the summer!

i think it’s great that he is environmentally friendly. by having a black house, it will absorb the sunlight and heat the house more. they are making way too much of this story. it is his own business and no one else’s. he is reducing his carbon footprint by doing this. they need to let him be and let him do his own thing.

What’s the big deal?! It’s his house, and, seeing as he paid so damn much for it, he can do whatever he wants with it. I think it’s good that he does his own thing. Just because the other houses are painted white is no reason for him to paint his house white…HE’S NOT A FRICKEN SHEEP! Good on him. And as for Scarlett and Charlize, who cares what they think, they’re both useless actors anyway and I can’t stand them.
