TROUBLED pop star Britney Spears is reportedly being held in a special suicide watch-style unit at a hospital following her latest meltdown.

The singer was dramatically taken out of her home in a stretcher by paramedics after police were called over a dispute involving her children.

According to officers she appeared to be under the influence of an ‘unknown substance’ and was taken into custody for evaluation.

It has now emerged that she is reportedly under a so-called “5150 hold” at a Los Angeles hospital – meaning staff believe there’s evidence she is a danger to herself or others.

The California order allows a clinician or officer to involuntarily confine a person, and requires signs of mental disorder and/or grave disability.

According to gossip website TMZ.com, it could mean it is thought she poses a danger to her children.

Police were apparently called to her home after she failed to hand over her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline, who has temporary custody, after a visit.

After nearly three hours, Spears reportedly handed over her children, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James.

According to reports, Federline’s lawyers were last night (Friday) also due to go to court to try to strip Spears’ visitation rights altogether

What more do these children have to witness at this tender age. This would be hard enough for adult children to endure will somebody in the judicial system pls. grow some brass balls and once and for all put these children and their welfare not to mention their emotional and physical safety first! Do we have to wait until one or both of them end up on a gurney in a black bag before they are looked after! Let Britney do what she wants to herself but get those kids away from her permanently and NOW!

Ah! If life could be so simple… lock the batty broad away and spare the children. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way when it comes to resolution for all people involved.
Britney is a very confused and apparently unstable person who needs a four letter word in her life … HOPE. No one wants to wind up in her condition. She didn’t either. Now she has to find her way back. Knowing that her children are on that road somewhere, even if it is years away, may help. I don’t think a judge is going to permanently ban a parent from seeing their children during their entire childhood. That is a long time. It will be reviewed periodically.
Give the girl a break. Don’t kick someone who is down and isn’t lashing out digging for gold like a Heather Mills. Spears needs prayer, not spite. Mills needs humility, not support.
