Rocker Pete Doherty has apparently been telling close friends that he thinks he can crack America.
According to reports, Pete – a notorious drug user, is in talk with some of the States’ most influential music publications – and has got himself the cover of at least one magazine.
A friend of the troubled Babyshambles frontman told British newspaper The Sun: “Pete is sure he can crack the US. He has been saying that as they let The Beatles in, he should be fine.”
Meanwhile, fans of 28-year-old Pete have turned on their ‘hero’ – and Pete’s official online forum has gone into meltdown – awash with fans complaining, after it was revealed that Doherty’s band, the Babyshambles were accused of stealing other people’s work for their song Baddie’s Boogie.
However, Wayne Kenyon from the band, known as ‘The Ferryman’ insists he wrote the tune, while one of the song’s prominent lines is from a published poem.
