Britney Spears is holed up in her Beverly Hills mansion after being discharged from hospital.
The Toxic singer was driven back to her home less than 48 hours after she was admitted to hospital after reportedly taking her kids hostage.
Onlookers said Spears was seen in the passenger seat of her white Mercedes car as a pal entered her driveway shortly after noon.
It had been thought that she would have to spend 72 hours in hospital for observation. But doctors decided she no longer posed a threat to herself or others and she was cleared for release.
Sources said the troubled star received a visit from TV psychologist Dr Phil early on Saturday. And it has been reported that she will appear on his television programme on Wednesday to discuss her problems.
Meanwhile it is thought her father Jamie – who rushed to be by her bedside when she was admitted to hospital – was also at Spears’ home.
He is said to have arrived at the Mulholland Drive property in a gold-coloured Escalade SUV.
An onlooker said: “It looks like Britney is back home for now.”
Spears, 26, was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital late on Thursday after she reportedly refused to return sons Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, to her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
She was pictured being stretchered out of the Beverly Hills home looking dazed and confused and carried into a waiting ambulance.
It has been claimed she downed a potentially deadly cocktail of vodka and prescription drugs shortly before the ambulance arrived.
She has since lost all visitation rights to the boys after the very public breakdown. It is not clear where Federline is.
