Hollywood star Tom Cruise has become second in command of the controversial Church of Scientology, according to a new biography – which makes an extraordinary attack on the star by comparing his 20-month-old daughter Suri to the Devil’s child in the film Rosemary’s Baby.
According to reports, the book, an unauthorized biography written by author Andrew Morton, claims Scientology has taken over the 45-year-old actor’s life, with its officials selecting many of the staff at his Hollywood mansion.
Morton, a former biographer of the late Princess Diana alleges that the ‘Top Gun’ actor is consulted by Scientology leader David Miscavige on “every aspect of planning and policy” and is tailoring his career to fit the aims of Scientology.
Miscavige and Cruise are said to have a close relationship, and according to the book, the pair are so close, Miscavige even joined him on honeymoon in the Maldives after his wedding to Katie Holmes in 2006.
These are claims Cruise denies vehemently, and Scientology lawyers are believed to be drawing up a lawsuit seeking $100million in compensation from Morton’s publishers, St Martin’s Press.
Cruise’s lawyer and close confidante Bert Fields gave a rare interview to Britain’s The Mail on Sunday newspaper, to pour scorn on Morton’s book, titled Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography.
Fields heavily criticized a passage in which Morton claims some “fanatical” Scientologists believed Suri Cruise was actually the result of a sperm donation by Scientology’s dead founder, L. Ron Hubbard.
Morton writes that Ms Holmes may feel she was in “the horror movie Rosemary’s Baby, in which an unsuspecting young woman is impregnated with the Devil’s child”.
Mr Fields said: “It’s not being published in England. The American publishers criticized the libel laws in Britain because they require an author to tell the truth. Well, thank God for the British libel laws.”
Cruise has no intention of reading the book when it’s released in the States, Fields added: “He has no intention of reading it. He’s very, very busy with a lot of things right now.
“He has been told about it and naturally he knows there are a bunch of lies about him. You can imagine what it must be like to have someone compare your baby girl to Rosemary’s Baby. Morton should be ashamed of himself.
“It’s a boring, poorly researched book by a man who never talked to anyone involved in Tom Cruise’s life or anyone close to him.
“There’s no real independent research. He hasn’t spoken to his mother, his sister, me, Paula Wagner [Cruise's film producing partner], his agent, his wives, David Beckham, Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez or any of the famous directors he’s worked with. Instead you’ve got this long, boring reference to people he knew 30 years ago.”
According to Morton: “When Tom confided to the Scientology leader about the couple’s fantasy of running through a meadow of wild flowers together, his friend apparently decided to make his dream come true.
“A team of 20 Sea Org disciples was set to work digging, hoeing, and planting wheat grass and wildflower seed near the Cruises’ bungalow.
“Naturally the work was regularly inspected by David and Shelley Miscavige [his wife], who would ride over to the site on his motorbike. They were apparently unhappy with the finished appearance and had the area ploughed over and reseeded.”

So the truth is finally out! Well, some of it sounds plausible at least, not sure about L. Ron’s frozen sperm fathering Suri :/
Of course the cult will sue Morton’s publishers and pursue Morton himself to the ends of the earth. They’re ultimately a bent group of nutters obsessed with world domination. Cruise is just the public face of a very rotten apple.

Morton’s “biography” is a crock. Royalty represents a population and must maintain a public image. Whereas individuals are not so constrained. Morton is cementing himself into a tight place with his statements. It is just plain ugly to talk about any child as Morton does. Spoken to the face of a mother, Morton should expect a hard slap in the face. Spoken to a father, perhaps worse. It is just plain wrong to speak of children like that.

There are lots of chances that people who were interviewed by Morton had many things to say. So, we’ll have a lot to learn about Cruise… and it’s not a suprise that it’s a real problem for him since it’s more than probable that Cruise is trying to become a politician for the cult, with an aura of scientology Übermensch – the “Operating Thetan”, so as to govern the world, as asked by Hubbard in his “Targets, defense” policy.

The bit about the Running thru the flowers is actually dated back to when Tom married his 2nd wife, actress Nicole Kidman. I used to be a part of the “fold”, and found that life went better away from them. The technology of Scientology definitely works, the management body that controls it…..? thats another topic…

No doubt Tom is a strange man, and
Scientology is a strange religion.
Could be true, and I’d like read and decide for myself….

I’ll wait for the book before judging it. Fact is that Scientology is a high-demand religious cult that does have a reputation of taking over the life (and wallet) of anyone who gets involved with it.
Morton must feel strongly about this topic. The Church of Scientology is also known for relentlessly pursuing, persecuting and prosecuting its critics.

Morton must be on drugs, bribed or something to invent such stories about Tom. I hope he will be sued to bankruptcy. He’s just a leech living off other’s fame. First he sucked out Princess Diana now it’s Tom and Katie.

Morton is a hack and these claims are a joke. I hope he and his publisher get what they deserve, which is a big fat lawsuit.

This “second in command” is a falsity made of whole cloth indicating to me that there are probably other falsities in this book. Scientology is run by true pros and if you have not observed its amazing results you have not looked. One of the traps is to look in the wrong direction which is apparently where this book is leading. I should not be wasting my key strokes here but this crock seems to be getting picked up in some robotic fashion.

Morton’s book packed with a “bunch of lies” has already earned the title of “Sham Bio.” I can’t believe they would print such a false bio.

LOL! Check out all the Scientologists leaving comments here. Scientology does not want you to read this book….. so I say, READ IT!
Learn about this evil cult and Tom Cruise, their number 2 zombie.

Scientologists all sound the same with anything critical.
“I haven’t read it, but I know it’s lies.”
Be a normal human being and not a robot cult worshiping zombie and read this book. Learn about this dangerous cult and it’s crazy number two, Tom Cruise.

While Andrew Morton is not an author I necessarily respect, I think he is on to something here. Anyone with half a brain who sees Cruise and others like Travolta in the media can see something just isn’t ‘right’. Seriously look at their eyes. I have to say the scientologist cult seems awfully defensive. Could it be because there is a lot of truth in the book? If the allegations are not true then why so defensive so quickly?

Isn’t that funny, note those I-hate-Scientology hoppers with their stereotype “yo, all the Scienos are cra-a-a-zy” filling up the comment section. At least Morton has chosen some nice wording for his scam.

All the rich and famous get attacked for SOMETHING. TC is one of the biggest movie stars and here he is being attacked by some dude who doen´t even know the definition of “biography”. Morton is trying to make money on someone elses life and I think that is off the rails. Maybe he should write up his own “biography” and make money from his own life, not someone elses. He is attacking two people I know of that have worked hard to get where they have gotten. Princess Diana is not someone to be remembered badly about and neither is Tom Cruise. Any other actor working with him is amazed how he sticks to his integrity and how honest, hard working he is. So Morton can go to hell.
