Christian Slater says he’s put his demons behind him

Hollywood actor Christian Slater says he’s put his demons behind him and finally found happiness.
The ‘Slipstream’ actor, 38, whose marriage to TV producer Ryan Haddon ended in divorce a year ago, has been dating the millionaire Jimmy Choo fashion boss Tamara Mellon since September 2007.
In an interview with Britain’s Closer magazine, he said of Mellon: “She’s a phenomenal woman and I’ve never been happier. She’s fantastic, really fabulous.”
He added: “Without a doubt I feel I’ve met somebody who’s very special, so hopefully things will keep moving on in the direction they’re going.”
Slater – who has a well publicized record of alcohol and drug abuse, but has been sober for two years, came to London last summer to star in the West End play Swimming with Sharks, a trip which resulted in him meeting Tamara, 40. “I really wasn’t expecting to meet anyone”, he said, “I’m just grateful I came here to be in this play.”
The actor has embraced life in the capital and even makes his way around in a Mini. He added: “I love London. It feels like home.”
The couple will have to deal with the pressures of a long-distance relationship when Christian’s play comes to the end of its run later this month and he returns home to Los Angeles, “We’ll take it one day at a time and do our best to support each other as we travel along this road together,” he says.
