Amy Winehouse sings with her dad to improve self-confidence

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has reportedly been brushing up on her singing skills with her dad Mitch – to improve her self confidence.
The 24-year-old ‘Rehab’ star – whose husband Blake Fielder-Civil is currently locked up in London’s Pentonville prison awaiting trial for charges of grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice – performed on several occasions with her 57-year-old dad at parties at her East-London home in the run-up to Christmas.
Papa Winehouse was hoping that it would give Amy the boost she needs to perform at next month’s Grammys, after being nominated for six awards.
A source said: “Amy had her fair share of troubles in 2007, and she’s still dealing with Blake being in prison. But her little parties at home have given her quite a boost.
“She often has friends round for drinks and inevitably most of the time she ends up singing. One night Mitch joined in and Amy loved it. They had a great giggle and it really made her feel good about herself so Mitch wants to repeat the experience as often as possible.”
Winehouse recently returned from a New Year’s vacation at Bryan Adams’ luxury villa on the Caribbean island of Mustique and her family are desperate for her to put her troubles behind her and focus on her career.
The source added to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Amy is settling back into London life after her trip to Mustique but Mitch hopes she can keep in high spirits.
“With the right preparation she should be able to light up the forthcoming award ceremonies with her stunning voice and remind people what she does best.”
Amy will be performing at the prestigious Grammy Awards in Los Angeles when it takes place on February 10. And sources say she’s excited.
“Amy is really excited to be asked to perform at the Grammys. It’s a huge event,” said a pal.
“She’s planning to do some sort of soul and Motown medley, and is even weighing up the possibility of a duet with some US stars – particularly Kanye West, who has spoken in the past of wanting to work with her.”
Amy’s nominations include album of the year, song of the year and record of the year, and best new artist.
